English is our point of difference, if we rock up like every other team, with an “honest battler” how are we going to win.
We have a potentially elite midfield and forward line plus our captain is literally the best player in the world

Pretty much all of the premiership sides of the last decade have won with a stock standard ruckman/ruckmen. The only elite ruckman was Gawn, which certainly is outside of the norm. Luke Jackson's stint in the ruck in that 3rd quarter did most of the damage too.

English's value is around the ground and his disposal, but if our midfield was better and maybe had better first use from the tap than that can be worked around.

I don't want to sell the farm for a ruckman. Makes no sense.

While this is probably true to an extent, I think the correlation can probably be disputed.

There has probably been four elite rucks in the last 10 years. Gawn, Grundy, Naitanui and Goldstein. Ryder maybe had a year or two where he was close to the conversation. Gawn won one, Grundy was a Dom Sheed kick away from winning one, Naitanui obviously injured when they won it and North haven't been close lately. McEvoy and Nankervis are probably the next best over that period and got 5 between them. Not elite rucks but certainly well above average and not a stock standard ruck like Cox/Cameron and Stanley of the past two years.

The same could also be said about key forwards. Over the last decade a lot of teams have won Premierships with one or no dominant key forwards. Us in 2016, Richmond in 2017, Melbourne in 2021 and Collingwood this year. I still feel like there is a better chance to win if you have two strong key forward options.

Oh god can someone AI Essendon players around a cup

Smiley Boy not posting much recent days. Heard a rumour he did a tour of the Hawks BF board. They're preparing to offer TasHawk and an as yet un-named other Hawks ITK, but also want a younger poster from our end going their way.

Plugger35 might be on the move too - Swans BF board feel they're not getting enough traction on umpiring conspiracies about us, trying to beef up their list. Free kick count from 66 GF proving an unfortunate stumbling block atm.
If they need anyone to upset other posters I have been doing all my work on Twitter lately but could be talked out of BF retirement
