Good little segment outlining the Dogs defensive game this year. (Starts 16:22)

Some glowing reviews on Khamis who has taken the most intercept marks in the competition since round 1 (LJ 2nd).

Impressively, no player has generated more scores from intercept marks than Buku this year. Very promising stuff.

Has been absolutely enormous behind the ball and is making the right decisions with ball in hand. Night and day from the dreaded Keath, Bruce, Gardener lineups last year.

It was pretty silly to play Buku forward last year. We were crying out for intercept marking in the backline and he was an undersized lead/mark forward/ruck who benefitted from being our main target at vfl level. He never had a legit chance at playing afl in that position and was stitched up in the one game we tried him in. I don’t buy that he learned some important lesson last year as a forward that has translated to his backline form this year either.

Anyway. He’s great to watch, really confident in his positioning and attack on the game. We have lacked that for a long time. We used to spend every week watching Cordy and Gardner play from behind and get beat week in week out.

Been some fails this year but individually Buku definitely a success so far.

At least we can sit here and not think Lobb’s contract is a major issue.

Either he stays with us as quality depth (as shown last week) on average to slightly above average wages, or he moves to a 4th club in a situation where we can probably demand a second round pick for a wanted player. Lobb is who he is at this point.

I don’t think spending time in the VFL is a major issue for his trade value. Every club knows why it’s happening, we have a unicorn in Darcy on our list.

I have just been told that now B.Smith is re-integrating into the football club and is ramping up his workloads without any unexpected setbacks negotiations between his management and the club have begun again for the first time since his injury with things initially looking positive.

Just hope we get more than a late first when he goes to the pies

I wonder if there's any chance he actually plays this year? I know it's been stated that we have a pick in the mid-season draft but I don't recall us putting Smith on the LTI list, as he did his knee in December.

Beat you by 2 days ;)

All youse claiming firsts on the Smith updates are wrong. These two media pros picking over our "small club" undead corpse, lay it all out and make a not very compelling argument that Smith is going to a "big club."

Amazing how McClure can look so perpetually smug when he is proven wrong constantly.

The dude who brought us 'Harley Reid won't be at West Coast'
