FFS that grub Morris and whinger Hannebery were so bored yesterday they were flogging some purple milkshake at a fast food joint. That's how much of a dirge trade period has become. To be fair it's Hutchy so they would be flogging s*** anyway, but still.

Trade period should run until mid-season to be honest. People need to stop listening to trade radio everyday expecting there will be 10 trades a day.

Other than the dick riding, it's so funny how the media can just openly discuss what amounts to list management rule manipulation.

We all get that Smith will, in all practice, find his way to Geelong.

But the rules in theory allow for other teams to draft Smith if no trade is executed.

The fact the AFL isn't in house to sign off anything over the weekend, makes having the trade period over the weekend pointless. Might as well just make it Monday to Friday, instead of pointlessly dragging it out. Its more a weekend of behind the scenes chat, if managers are even allowed at Marvel over the weekend?

That being said, the extreme lack of trades so far, feels like it could be the AFLs doing behind the scenes. Watch all the big trades go through "at the last minute". So they can make a show of it.
