Thats true and he has local ties to geelong like a few of our young guys (like henry and bruhn did and like clohesy conway stevens etc do as well as partially with clark). But opportunity and $ can do funny things to move fringe players.

We should just tell Geelong go get us pick 12 from Gold Coast .

Im sure geelong would be open to a 3 way trade (like we did with henry) but i reckon 12 ends up at richmond as part of the rioli deal (who knows maybe richmond are willing to deal the pick once they get it).

Richmond might be the trade partner there if this is the case. They would be desperate for a talent like Marra, back themselves in to deal with issues of this nature after Dusty and others the last few years and will have a ton of high picks in this draft.

Trends are always changing. Speed is winning now, but some other strategy will come along soon enough. Through the history of the game tall forwards are pretty instrumental, our 3 are all potentially elite talents that bring different things to the table.

We should be working out how to turn them into the unstoppable force they can be, not giving up trying to follow everyone else

Everyone seems to be forgetting Croft, full forward or defender.

2. Macrae and Pick 32 for Pick 24 and Pick 43
3. Jed Bews as a FA for small defender depth.
4. I'd love Houston but unsure we can convince him. Pick 15 and future picks may be enough for Port though.
5. We have about 10 guys who could retire or be delisted. We desperately need to move on 1 or 2 of those earlier so it's in a stronger draft.

Which would mean:
In: Pick 15, Pick 24, Pick 35, Pick 44, Bews, Late Pick
Out: Smith, Macrae, Keath, Bedendo, O'Driscoll/Rypstra, Clarke (moved to rookie list though), Baker/Cleary/Scott (contract paid out).
