You’re not making much sense here do we just need quick players? Can we again not draft them pick them up as delisted free agents?
Quick skilful players that can tackle.

We have none of that.

Peatling is actually close to breaking out which is why he was Chased by 7 clubs.

He has those characteristics. Again, why we were interested

Maybe little things like this matter for some players and of course getting a nice contract helps

Peatling's teammate Isaac Cumming, both Academy products at the Giants, has already elected to join Adelaide an an unrestricted free agent this off-season, while Peatling also has links with Crows defender Nick Murray.
Matthew Nick's also coached at the Giants so he has worked with Peatling previously.

Yes but he’s 24 and yet to do it at a consistent level at AFL level so acting like we now suddenly can’t improve because we missed out on him is laughable he’s also not that skilful

There comes a point where the $/years are too much to get the trade. I like Peatling but mostly based on his last 5 games so there's definitely risk. Harmes' last 5 games before injury were just as good/better and has similar traits.
This is basically it his best case scenario is to become what Harmes was a couple years ago at the Dees

Matt Spangher isn't the bogeyman this forum wants him to be.

Our forward line structure and cohesion improved significantly this year.

Moving Naughton up the ground to be the tall link man worked.

JUH and Darcy worked well together and didn't crowed each other out.

Weightman's judgement of when to go for marks was significantly better.

West made that accountable half forward posisition his own and kicked goals as well.

Spangher job would be easier if we could deliver the ball by foot

Our kicking skills with regards to hitting targets is not great at all

I think, in terms of KP forwards, we need someone who can teach them the body stuff. How to push off an opponent and lead, how to use your hips, essentially, how to utilise their size. Darcy just seems to get it, but his height helps. When our boys lead, they look great. When they can't, they are beaten far too often. There are a couple of forwards who excel at this.

  • Hawkins
  • Riewoldt (Both of them)
  • Kennedy

I'm not saying have them coach full-time, but just get them in to offer advice. Other options would be (if they're not already coaching):

  • Scarlet
  • Lake
  • Rance
  • Grundy (Syd)

Strongly agree on this. I think he’s just become a whipping boy. He was relatively inexperienced when he got the job but people have zeroed in on him like he’s 2002 Nathan Eagleton.

Missing out on Peatling is not really big deal. We don’t HAVE to get someone just for the sake of it. O’Halloran as well - no big issue. Think some need to find other things about our footy club to be worried about rather than whether or not we get a shiny new toy just for the sake of it.

Oliver to Geelong absolutely opens up the avenue to being more flexible to trade something to us.

God knows how it's all fitting in the salary cap. Bowes was meant to take up their "cap room" (hence why they got pick 7 for him). Then Holmes they kept as a million dollar player. Smith's just short of another million. And Melbourne wouldn't be moving on Oliver if they were still paying any more than half his salary, which means that Geelong will still be paying 600k or so for him.

An immediate upgrade on Vandermeer and McNeil would be nice though. O'Halloran would achieve that.
