Can’t believe some of the comments regarding Sanders, it seems that he’s being judged because he was talked up as being the most ready player in history by Bevo. I think we can all agree that was a mistake, but just because he’s not showing the same as Daicos or Sheezel did in their first years, doesn’t mean it’s panic stations.

I watched most of his VFL games and his clearance and inside 50 work is definitely elite. He lets himself down with his disposal and has a trait of just getting rid of it, instead of assessing his options. These things will take time.

He also needs to calm down, he gets very angry and loses focus when things aren’t going is way. An example being when he gets a few free kicks paid against him.

With another full preseason I can’t see how he doesn’t play 20+ games in 2025.

Yep, at the end of the day he was a player with minimal senior experience (at whatever level) who was able to adjust to the speed and flow of the game at AFL level, at its higher pace, to get to the right spots to win 20+ touches numerous times.

Agree that some of his mentality and decision making needs work but I feel like the instincts of a midfielder to actually get into the right spots in the first place is overlooked. If he's getting 20 touches now it surely won't be long until he gets 30 touches. Even if the ball use is not of great value the act of ball winning, is.

Is Ralph saying pick 47 for Macrae and we still cover his contract? 😂😂

He's taking the p*** now. Trolling at the highest level.

So busy frothing over his beloved Tigers ripping Freo a new one over Bolton, the bias has gone to his head.

Imagine us taking 47 AND covering his contract? How can anybody seriously write those words and think of themselves as credible?

Exactly. Libba is getting old and his knees are ****ed - we can't take it for granted that he will be a significant contributor next year and beyond.
If he did an ACL he would probably just retire. Possibly the same with another concussion.

We definitely need backup. We probably would be happy with Macrae as a backup, but he is expensive and does not want to be.

Sanders, to me seemed to have put a lot of pressure on himself to come in and play at a high level straight away, he become quite frustrated early, particularly when subbed out v Essendon. This couple with the outside noise around how “ready” he was, including from Bevo just placed some seriously unrealistic expectations.

I saw him live at Whitten in the pre season game v Hawks and he moved well and looked ready to explode. He struggled with the tempo when the real stuff started, with another pre season he will be fine.

It's a quickly typed out tweets with typos/vague statements from Ralph.

He's trying to say we're not covering Macrae's contract (hence only getting a pick in the 40's), which will help our salary cap in the future, though the Dogs' preference was to be happy to trade off some of that future salary cap room for a slightly better pick in the 20's or 30's, though we relented on that.

I'm hoping Dogs get a first round pick outside the Smith trade. GWS looking for a 2025 pick because they don't want anymore 2024 Maybe trade out 35 for a future 2nd and swap both to GWS for XOH with 25 from caleb trade for 15/16.

I don’t really want XOH but if we’re handing over pick 32 then I’d rather it be for him than Kennedy. XOH is younger and offers a point of difference with his speed if we were given the choice. I definitely don’t want to give up decent draft capital for both.

Kennedy is clearly a better footballer but I’d rather Harmes just play that Macrae role next season. We also have Sanders, Garcia & Gallagher in that position along with a new draftee or two.

Yes,

Already delisted Rypstra Bedendo
O'Driscoll retired
Smith/Daniel/Macrae leave via trade
Keath most likely delisted as well
So 44 on a list, that's 7 players gone, + XOH and Kennedy =39
How many draft picks are we expecting to hold? It'd be four I assume, then Clarke gets the last spot

Unless I've missed something

It’s official

Western Bulldogs defender Jason Johannisen has extended his time at the Kennel into a 15th season, putting pen to paper on a one-year deal.

It means the 31-year-old rebounding half-back will remain in the red, white and blue until at least the end of the 2025 season.

The Club’s only Norm Smith Medallist, Johannisen was drafted with Pick 39 in the 2010 AFL Rookie Draft.

He endured an injury-riddled campaign this season, playing nine games at AFL level to bring his career tally to 196 matches.

His best outing of the year came against St Kilda, collecting 31 disposals, 12 marks and six intercepts in the 60-point win.

Bulldogs’ GM of List Management and Recruiting, Sam Power, said he was pleased to have Johannisen remaining at Mission Whitten Oval.

“JJ has been an important part of the Bulldogs for a long period of time and we’re excited to have him around our group for at least another season,” Power said.

“He provides speed and run from our defence, while making good decisions with the ball in hand.”

Johannisen joins Riley Garcia Buku Khamis, Taylor Duryea and Lachie McNeil to re-sign with the Club in recent weeks.

Being an ideas kinda guy. Ive got a better idea. The entire trade period should be like a televised game of demented speed dating between desperates willing to do anything to consummate the deal. A spectacle that begins at 2pm and finishes at 7.30pm on the same day.

Id watch that. You'd watch that. We'd all watch that.

Any list manager pairing that fails to consummate a deal within 3 minutes has to squeeze into a phone box with BT - who is wearing a sumo loincloth.

Or maybe not... Sam?

XOH sounding more likely now on trade radio

As soon as this was floated, there was too much noise to think it would go away.

Rypstra took O'Driscoll's list spot I believe, so you can't count both.

I will miss the little man

Tom Morris tells AFL Trade Radio that Western Bulldog Caleb Daniel is increasingly likely to be a North Melbourne player by tonight's 7.30pm deadline.

North Melbourne's pick 25 is set to be the key plank in any deal, with some later picks to balance out the trade for the Roos.

However, Sydney premiership player Dan Hannebery says it's not a great move by North. He'd prefer the club to continue to bring in a young player with pick 25, rather than add Daniel's 192 games of experience at age 28.

so what time do this shizz start?? and why am i actually gonna listen to trade radio lol (its a really boring day dont judge me)
