I know that there are many 'spam' like rumours that circulate around trade time, I hope this one is not spam and is in fact correct.

I am told that a preliminary deal has been reached on the following trades:

Shaun Burgoyne - Hawthorn
Andrew Lovett - Port Adelaide
Mark Williams (Haw) - Essendon

We will see how this eventuates over the coming week or so.

Burgoyne >>> Lovett >>> Williams

Hawthorn the big winners (usually a giveaway when Hawthorn posters call a deal "fair")

Port lose (Lovett not as good as Burgoyne)

Dons lose (Williams not as good - certainly not as fit - as Lovett)

This might work if Hawthorn throw in their second rounder / Kennedy for Essendon and McGlynn to PA.

No chance why would we swap Shaun for lovett and more to the point why would we want another outside player we have enough of those thanks. and if our footy department even considered this they would not have a job for long

I think Williams is worth more to us than he would be to Essendon, in an off field sense at least. He's also definitely still in our best 22, notwithstanding his whippingboy status amongst some of our members.
I would much prefer to see any combo of Dowler/Thorp/Morton/Murphy to Essendon, if that'd be workable.

Hope so, Seems fair for all 3

would be good, everyone gets what they want for a fair price

Seems like a fair deal for all concerned - as long as Burgoyne and Williams aren't concerned by injury troubles.

lol @ the Hawks supporters especially the last one who isn't content with getting SB for Williams. Classic stuff! :D:thumbsu:

who are you "told" this by?

Williams is worth maximum 2nd round pick.
Lovett is worth max. late 1st round pick.
Burgoyne is worth mid 1st round pick plus
a player.
Hawthorne trade 2nd round pick value for
mid 1st round pick + player value and that's
a fair deal. Right!

Hawthorn are the big winners. Not equitable at all.

I love it how all the Hawthorn fans are banging on about how fair and dandy it is. It's such self-serving bullshit.

Fair go, the trade was suggested by an Essendon supporter.

Of course Hawk fans are going to say its fair, to us it is.

Essendon and Port could both lose their existing players to the ND for nothing, on the other hand Williams is contracted, maybe that is being taken into account in the apparent discrepency in values.

Mind you it still does seem very generous to the Hawks.

Turn it up.

It's not an equitable trade. Not remotely.

Don't piss on my back and tell me it's raining.

Well maybe you guys should say that instead of saying it is a fair trade for all parties involved? Anyone with half a brain knows it heavily favors the Hawks.
