Still wild about this , the only circumstances this would have been a good idea was if she had the durability of Tom lynch , polar opposite, tho that can change quickly .
I actually hope we do use the pic to get Scott , as I have little faith that a pic 18 would even be remotely close to a contributing decent senior player any time soon . If Scott was an early pic , only 20yo , then may have something to offer

One thing I remember Sheerin saying in an interview this year was “Don’t make decisions to please other people”.

I've been around footy most of my life. Was in the Jets program as a 15yo, played 2 years for them as a decent ish player, but nowhere good enough for AFL. Pretty good suburban player on decent coin. I was coach of my Daughters U12 team and pretty much the U15's too as their coach was clueless, lied about her background and had NFI. After 2 years my head was absolutely done in from the politics, backstabbing, bitchiness, incompetence. In year 1 it was the whole clubs inaugural season I had an ex VFA gun (father of a player who used to be my coach) and an ex VFL ruckman (grandfather of a player) helping me out and even though most girls went from 0 skills never even Auskick to pretty good fundamentals by EOY although rarely close to a win.

Year 2 all quality help was gone as they were over all the drama and toxicity. We made finals, but I hated it by mid season and was rapt when it was over. Most of my best mates I grew up playing footy with, footy trips to Bali, Gold Coast, Thailand are still highlights and best memories of my life. From every team be it U9's, Vickick, Jets, local club..... it was always filled with humour, banter, U16 Pie nights with Jazzy O (our Mums probably would've castrated our Dads if they knew we weren't just drinking coke and eating 4 n 20's). So many dudes I grew up with/ played with have similar lousy experiences as me from their involvements with their daughters teams........ no prizes for guessing the common denominator but what boys team ever had bitchiness, backstabbing, cliques, bullying?

The unspoken thing in AFLW is so many are dating each other, cheat with a teammate, or break up and justifiably so nobody wants to have to work with their ex, much less see them hooking up with your teammate. Can you imagine the hours wasted sorting through those sh1t storms instead of say... learning to kick reasonably accurately over 20m.

I think you’re spot on and none of that sees the light of day in mainstream media but says much why most coaches are MEN and so many players split abruptly from clubs . My bro daughters play under age in bayside , they wanted him to coach but he said the coach is a grade A fw , so doesn’t care to involve himself

Cant believe Sheerin has gone & to Nth Melbourne of all the teams. Makes a mockery of the AFLW, when a premiership team can continue to add to the team with players like Sheerin. Well done the Roo's recruiting team for the steal of the season. I cant see us being close to competitive with our midfield now, we needed to add too it, not diminish it.

Staggering to lose Sheerin at all. Late age debutant, but played consistently high standard footy for 2 years I guess on low end of the salary cap. North won't be paying her more. They've lost one fringe player.

You'd think RFC could easily shuffle the books to retain Sheerin. Delist fringe players.

Yea I have coached two women’s teams over the last 5 years and have loved it

I have seen a little of what you mentioned.

But I have struggled with motivation. I don’t think it’s limited to women’s teams. COVID generation is very unmotivated.

TPP is tiered so only select few can be in ea bracket I dare say she put claims in she warranted top bracket which u couldn’t argue with , from there we had a problem
Terrible list management she’s a genuine star of the w program , loved her combative play and we will be so much poorer for her loss unless we have a drafting miracle

I don't know but something is rotten in the state of Denmark. it's hard to see how they fit Sheerin in. They take a young kid in the draft that would slot into bottom scale. I could name at least 10 of their players straight up that any club would pay tier 2 upwards to move to them, and that doesn't include Alice O'Loughlin or Ruby Tripodi who after their 24' seasons they would have to be offered more to stay.

I'm the opposite and I'd be surprised if there wasn't decent talent there, but it's still a lottery. So far Scott has been patchy, since 2022 she's gone backwards and lucky to have two very good games a season, and the rest average or poor, if we do trade her in it's a risk.

Molan was a bust and kept on the list too long. In 2021 draft there were a few that were a reach as it turns out, Stella Reid, Ella Friend and Annie Lee. Does Tara Slender count?

I was bullied off this Board 3 years ago for saying exactly what everyone is saying now. Our AFLW program is amateur hour under Sheehan. Poor list management, trading and drafting decisions multiplied by 6 years. The club has failed our players, staff and supporters. All our first rounders apart from McKenzie are busts. heck me even Stan would have done a 10x better job at recruiting. To overlook Craven is a joke. The 2 GWS smalls traded in last year are seriously average. Grieser for Cordner, Federicks when the game had passed her by. The list of Sheehan heck ups is a long one.

If Ellish has had a fall-out with players/staff that is on Ferg and Sheehan. Its not the first time Sheehan has taken the easy option either. She pee'd off a player to Brisbane years ago in similar circumstances. The lack of leadership and culture that leads to these situations resides with her. I don't see it happening at Norf, Adelaide, Brissy, Hawks, Port et al who are years ahead of us or have blown past us.
