Weller was only on the rookie list wasn't he? I still think we will only go with 38 on the senior list and 6 rookies. Menadue, Moore and miller to be delisted in my opinion.

yeah, it'll be interesting as to what goes down. Towner could be done too.
In total, we can have up to 40 main list and 7 on the rookie list.
I would be happy to keep Towner on the rookie list but sadly I don't think we will. Pickett is locked in and i seen somewhere aarts was also likely to be retained. Not sure weather as a cat b rookie egg needs to be upgraded to senior list but I'm quite confident we can retain him as a primary rookie

Rather Bennell than that spud Murray.
I'd back us taking Bennell, but only if we offer him the same deal as Stack and have him come and earn the spot over pre-season for an SSP selection.
I reckon another club may just take him as a rookie, but hopefully the fact that we were one of only two clubs to look at giving him a second chance last time keeps us at the top of the list of clubs he'd be happy to prove himself at if given the chance

My thoughts exactly joelsyt. The club has my trust, same as it did with selecting Pickett in the GF. They know what they’re doing.

I would tend to agree with the 3 delistings but wouldnt mind Rookie listing Miller & Menadue for 1 year just to make sure we have some depth Moore i think no longer has a chance in our foward line with Jack having 2-3 years Lync and backup of Chol , Balta , CCJ
I tend to agree with Bennell over Murray if we are to give 1 a chance but dont think we will be taking Bennell with his attitude last time we met with him and he was not really very respectful to richmond's interest by missing the medical and using us to get his deal from fremantle
Also a bit concerned about his influence on our younger indigenous boys like Rioli,Bolton,Stack,Egg-Smith
He certainly is a talent but is he straight these days and whats the calf's like ?

His manager has made some statements acknowledging past behavioural issues but has given reasons those may now be in the past....fatherhood, maturity. If it cost you a $400k contract and a decent draft pick, then no way, but SSP avenue onto the rookie list, or even just rookie listed to get him in the door on low money, probably fine. I am really warming to this one, providing the right boxes are ticked.
If you look at all our best and most promising players by draft year on my list below, a player of Bennell’s age goes a bit further towards helping with the two wipeout years, 2008, 2011. If we retain our 2017-2018 players then those guys should be ready to assume leadership roles around the time the 2009-2010 bottleneck is retiring. The likes of Ross, Coleman-Jones, Baker will be 25-27yo at that time. It is something of a worry though that if you draw a circle around the five draft years 2011-2015, we don’t look to have much in the way of elite or elite potential in those years. Vlastuin, Rioli is about it at this stage. I wonder if at some stage we may need to address that with a Touk Miller from 2014, a Ben McKay or Brayden Sier from 2015, a Whitfield or Wines from 2012, a Luke Dunstan 2013. Anyway, I digress, Bennell has my interest.

Yeah I said the other day we will rookie list menadue if the opportunity presents but I still think freo will sign him as a delisted free agent. Having said that if they only offer him 1 year he may prefer to just stay with his mates at tiger land for slightly less coin.
