Aren't the rules that the player must have already nominated for a draft or been on an AFL list, don't think you can pluck a kid who might be a chance for this years draft.

here are the rules below.

If I'm an AFL Club im looking top aged players who missed out on being drafted last year because they might have been on the younger side and not fully developed in their proper draft year but are back at their TAC club as a top age player to have another crack and taking them.

The key Mid-Season Rookie Draft criteria includes:

- Clubs must have a rookie-list spot available or a registered inactive player to be eligible to participate in the draft

- If an inactive, injured player is fit to play before the season ends, a club can apply to return that player to the primary list in place of another long-term injured player

- Players must have nominated for the most-recent National Draft or previously been on an AFL list

- Players who have committed to another year with a Northern or Next Generation Academy are ineligible

- A delisted player can't be re-selected by the same club in the period following their delisting

- A retired player, such as Cyril Rioli, or a player who delists himself must be out of the AFL for at least one full season to be eligible

- Players must submit their contract terms when nominating

- A player on a short-term contract ending on October 31 the same year receives a minimum of $50,000, with a further $20,000 if they are not re-signed or picked up as a delisted free agent

- A player on a contract that ends on October 31 the following year is subject to the same terms as any other player

- An AFL club can re-sign a player as per the current rookie-list rules, otherwise the player becomes a delisted free agent

- The AFL will send the full nomination list to all AFL clubs and state league bodies

- An AFL club must pay 50 per cent of any advance payments to a drafted player's previous club before they are eligible to play a game

- Drafted players who stay in their original state cannot play against their former club unless all parties agree

- A player can return to their former club for finals if their services are no longer required by the AFL club that drafts them

Just my opinion and I know not many would agree but I think someone who would come cheapish, money and pick wise, would be Petracca. Has stagnated at Melbourne. A new environment and dropping 5 to 8kg, I think he could be another caddy/dusty type player. I think our club could get the best out of him and could be another midfield beast that kicks goals.

Yes and with his career stagnated at the Dees he could be keen for a fresh start.

He would be so good for us I reckon.

My mate who tells me things, told me that Norf had to extend there rebuild and would trade out stars to do it. I shared that late last year as he was rock solid on it. What he told me way back then, has happened, so i trust it. I would suggest IF Norf will let the 27 year old go for success, we will be balls deep. I did hear that if something like that happened we would need Norf to cover a good chunk of his wage for a period and we repay that with draft pick(s).

On the interstate mid, the noise is getting louder, will share a little later.
Jack Martin - Gold Coast

Why stop at 3 ex Gold Coast players!

You reckon Dion Pestia is in the top 20 paid players in the league?

Please man, think about stuff before you post
What is Prestia reportedly on? I thought it was $800k.

and you reckon 800k is top 20?
Well there were only 31 players earning $800,000+ last season so he’s thereabouts. I’d say a lot of them would be sitting on the $800,000 mark given that only six earned $1m plus last year.

In all seriousness any player we takeat this point is basically less than a rookie listed longshot. Ain't many superstars floating around in the bushleagues that will step into the AFL without a preseason and impact. Stack being an exception. Won't be surprised if we pass. No point taking someone for the lols.

Let’s take another Carlton reject and make him a champion
Well that would be Anderson, after looking into his history. He looks like he could develop nicely under our system. He would follow along the lines of Lambert only a taller version. Apparently has a fantastic work ethic tough as nails, & at only 21 years of age would fit perfectly as a project mid-fielder.
