Smith has looked cooked this year, his best days are behind him.

No he's not. In any event I suspect that Jetta is closer to retirement given his persistent calf issues.Jetta's younger than Smith
Yeah....he is.No he's not. In any event I suspect that Jetta is closer to retirement given his persistent calf issues.
Smith on the other hand is an ironman in terms of staying fit - he has played 22+ games every year since his second season.
I don't hate it. If we make salary cap space available and intend to compete for the flag then we may as well use the money (provided it's on short term contracts that don't compromise our ability to re-sign our players).
If Jetta were to retire, Smith would be an excellent replacement on half back. Otherwise, he'd be good on a wing in place of Masten/Hutchings.
Given the similarities in playing styles between us and Hawthorn, he'd probably fit in well and quickly.
Definitely off. I don't subscribe to your Gregorian propaganda.Yeah....he is.
Last time I looked people born in 1988 are older than people born in 1989, but maybe my maths is off
Maybe but I'm not a fan of bringing in over 30's and I'd rather go for someone a bit younger, I like the Brad Hill idea someone posted, reckon he would be an absolute gun in our side.Definitely off. I don't subscribe to your Gregorian propaganda.
You are correct - they're both 30 and Jetta is 5 months younger. Doesn't change my point though - I think Smith is much more likely to outlast Jetta than the other way around.
Fat X begs to differdoubt smith would even come across here.
only one club attracts twilight players from other states here and it aint us.

Mitchell, Petrie....
mitchell i think was still had it in him
petrie was picked up as a nick nat replacement
Two years ago he was the out and out best wingman in the comp.Smith has looked cooked this year, his best days are behind him.
Looking at the list of contracted players it is sure going to be difficult to cut three players from our main list.Watson is going to be 25 next year, he might not be on the list come the end of this season.

Murtimer is the obvious one but ironically he is having his best season of football since he was recruited.
Nelson has found a new lease of life.
Watson improves every year.
Ah Chee is still a handy back up.
Hamish Bradshaw needs an extra year
Matt’s Allen could be in the gun or maybe a shock delisting is on the cards.
Our cross town town rivals on the other hand have no such problem with a minimum of six players from their main list almost certain to go.
Reckon we might have a crack at I Smith as a free agent if the Kelly / Coniglio trades fail .
Smith would be handy on the wing , dont ctiticise me I know it wont happen but he would know Simmo well and he seemed real friendly after the Hawks game with JK and co .
Just the Kelly trade is too much we need other options while we're in contention .
He'd be pretty much untradeable
Masten still required for another year IMO.
