Gaff just signed a long term contract, why on Earth would he be wanting to go to Norf after that whole saga?
People’s feelings change. And his thoughts may change if we win the flag.
Contracts aren’t what they used to be.

Thought you were looking at the starting 22, as you were.
Has he though? The only place I saw it reported that he'd signed on long term was The Worst who have never been that reliable.Gaff just signed a long term contract, why on Earth would he be wanting to go to Norf after that whole saga?

Look at the wording of Gaff's press release on the Eagles website https://www.westcoasteagles.com.au/news/2018-10-07/gaff-recommits-to-eagles
in comparison to say Nic Nats - https://www.westcoasteagles.com.au/news/2019-06-23/nic-nat-signson-for-three-more-years
or the Rotham/Edwards announcement - https://www.westcoasteagles.com.au/news/2019-05-30/eagles-resign-young-defensive-duo
They're all very clear on the length of the contract...except for Gaff's which seems to be deliberately vague.
He says it in that article I posted underneath, but what's long term? 3 years? 6 years? Who knows but I don't think it's as long as 6 otherwise why wouldn't he just say so. I just can't recall anyone declining to reveal their contract length.Gaff has said himself its long term. Pretty sure it’s in the press conference he did before round 3
There’s also articles with him being interviewed that say it’s long term

That's the kind of cliche lots of guys trot out though. It certainly is vague. I’m taking from it the “aspire” to be a one club player
I'd be interested to see a source for thatGaff is an Eagle until 2024
I'd be interested to see a source for that
I wouldn't worry, I was just thinking out loud that it's funny his contract length hasn't been disclosed. Probably has signed up for longer than 2 years....well maybe....What????? Gaffy duck leaves next year???? How did I miss that one????
That's not a source. Would dare say that's based on this article - https://thewest.com.au/sport/west-c...l-to-make-him-an-eagle-for-life-ng-b88983793zAFL Out of Contract Players in 2024

Yeo & Shuey are 3 x 1st round picks each. The media and Geelong nuffies don't get how trading works.
If I had a free choice between Yeo and Kelly I would pick Yeo. Obviously I am biased as a WC fan but I've also seen Yeo's last 3 seasons. He's a jet and has all the tools. According to at least one Geelong nuffy Yeo + our first round pick for Kelly is fair. Righteo m8
Yep so I’m expecting some bizarre pick that no one saw coming, who actually ends up looking alright, just didn’t got zero attention predraft. Venners, O’Neill etcDeven Robertson. Larke Medalist, WA premiership captain, All-Australian captain, nephew of Darren Glass. He seems like a logical choice for us
It's looking unlikely. Early mail was that he was going to be a late 1st, early 2nd. Then he had a great u18's, won the Larke and has shot up in value. Could be anything but unlikely to be there for us.Are we likely to have a pick where he's available?

Tim Mitchell then rated our trade period last year
Noticeably there is no mention of Bailey Williams and the swap of picks with Sydney

More to the point, we'll probably be trading our 1R for Kelly. It's looking unlikely. Early mail was that he was going to be a late 1st, early 2nd. Then he had a great u18's, won the Larke and has shot up in value. Could be anything but unlikely to be there for us.
Cal Twomey post carnival mock draft had him at #14. And Cal tends to be a bit Vic-centric and give unders on WA boys.
Worst case for us is if Freo offload B Hill and the S Hill FA compo to Geelong for Kelly and then no-one bids early for Liam Henry so they can use pick 9 or 10 for Robertson and low points picks for Henry.
