Contracts aren’t what they used to be.
Looks pretty versatile. Not sure of his endurance but he looks capable of developing into an inside mid..
As others have noted, our stocks of quality developing mids are pretty low.
I'm pretty happy with our list. After we trade for Kelly, maybe we could just offer to sit out of the draft this year whilst the rest of the comp catches up with us.

Has he though? The only place I saw it reported that he'd signed on long term was The Worst who have never been that reliable.

They're all very clear on the length of the contract...except for Gaff's which seems to be deliberately vague.

Gaff has said himself its long term. Pretty sure it’s in the press conference he did before round 3
There’s also articles with him being interviewed that say it’s long term

He says it in that article I posted underneath, but what's long term? 3 years? 6 years? Who knows but I don't think it's as long as 6 otherwise why wouldn't he just say so. I just can't recall anyone declining to reveal their contract length.

That's the kind of cliche lots of guys trot out though.
The first Gaff article written by Stocks says a bit I think, "Gaff considered his options during the season before informing the club today that he would continue with the 2018 premiers in 2019 and beyond".
I honestly think the rumours he's only signed on for two years are correct and he'll either sign another extension at the end of this season (with no fanfare as he's kept that 2020 is last year of his contract on the quiet) or he'll ask for a trade back to Melbourne.

Yep so I’m expecting some bizarre pick that no one saw coming, who actually ends up looking alright, just didn’t got zero attention predraft. Venners, O’Neill etc
It's looking unlikely. Early mail was that he was going to be a late 1st, early 2nd. Then he had a great u18's, won the Larke and has shot up in value. Could be anything but unlikely to be there for us.
Cal Twomey post carnival mock draft had him at #14. And Cal tends to be a bit Vic-centric and give unders on WA boys.
Worst case for us is if Freo offload B Hill and the S Hill FA compo to Geelong for Kelly and then no-one bids early for Liam Henry so they can use pick 9 or 10 for Robertson and low points picks for Henry.
Masten will retire before playing for another club in another state
