Yep. 5 of the 6 have been the sort of marks we've been lacking- real key forward type marks in either good field position or in 1 on 1s (or 1 on 2s)Taken 6 tonight. 4 of them contested...

I would imagine we would have. From memory St Kilda had pick 9 and wanted a mid. (Armitage I think they took)Assuming this was in response to my post?
Reid was pick 8. I was pondering whether we'd have been able to get Reid at 10 if we'd taken Selwood at 8 in the scenario that Geelong passed on him.
Imagine getting Reid and Selwood instead of Reid and Brown...I would imagine we would have. From memory St Kilda had pick 9 and wanted a mid. (Armitage I think they took)
But what would have happened in 09 and 11?Imagine getting Reid and Selwood instead of Reid and Brown...
What would have happened in 2011 without Brown shutting down Reiwoldt? On the other hand what would have happened in 07 if we'd had Selwood and the Cats didn't? (Probably the same tbh since he only got 15 disposals and 1 clearance in the prelim).

Surely you won't be matching.I hear he is being offered $700k a year ...new CBA I guess.
What does that look like in a trade? as he's a RFA I think.
Surely a first?
I mean in compoSurely you won't be matching.
Hard to say it's probably going to change with the new CBA but yeah I'm sure it will be somewhere around a first. We don't mind giving up more so teams can get higher compo.I mean in compo
If we trade in Reid or Spudboult I'll spew.
Have we learned nothing from Mayne?
They are both Free Agents but I would trade for Reid
Why would you trade for a Free Agent...?

Same thing Geelong did with Dangerfield
What? 3peat?Hawks tried that and look at them Now
If Sydney are going to match an offer to Reid, then you would almost be prepared to let him go. The whole point of the strategy is to buy a ready-made for now and hang onto the first pick for later...
At the end of the day Reid is worth a early/mid second round pick. If Reid wants to come to us we offer him a figure that Sydney will match and trade a second rounder.Well IF we miss on Reid I can see the Club Panicking to get a KPF and do something Stupid like we did with Mayne last FA/Trade Period
You get the feeling WC have moved on from him but he's 197cm, just turned 29 and was the lynchpin of their defence before blowing out his knee, usually takes 2 years to fully recover from one of those so if you aren't scared off by his age (and lets face it Goldy and Dunny are older) he might be ready to hit his straps again and sans McClarty we don't have anyone that can take the 200cm forwards.I'm gonna say a name I haven't seen in this thread.
And see what people say....
Eric Mckenzie.
I hear all this talk about possibly nabbing
Lever, pittard or Mayto strengthen our defence in the trade period.
