I was keen on Josh Bruce last year and I think the consesus was very much against - he might be more popular now after a good season but his price has likely gone up too.

Wells will probably retire so that will free a bit of the cap up but we do have quite a lot of players getting under, especially after taking a pay cut to get Beams back last year.
Those blokes wouldn't be over impressed if we started spending up on recruiting.

Did you know Collingwood were dead set keen on Marcus Bontempelli back in the 2013 draft? They were ready to take him at pick 6, and it was only after that became apparent that the Bulldogs settled on him a week or two before draft night.

In the 2017 draft, did you know Aaron Naughton was desperate to become a Pie? He was a diehard Collingwood supporter all his life, and rumor has it- he asked clubs with earlier picks not to select him in the hope he'd get to Collingwood at 6, but if they passed, he was happy to go anywhere. Obviously you guys landed a gun in Stephenson and wouldn't have any regrets... but I reckon that would've been a nice time to have a couple of first rounders!

GWS have both Kelly and now Coniglio on $1M per year. Add to this Cameron, Greene, Ward, and Davis who must all be on good coin. Who else may be squeezed out at GWS to create some cap space you think?

Cameron's contract is heavily back ended. Supposedly $1.2m this year and $1.3m next. When club went to the players wanting players to sacrifice to keep the list together. He refused... as is his right.
