Maybe they got so bruised by that West Coast thrashing they decided they needed a new KPD to stop Kennedy/Darling?
A defence Bruce Doull, Gavin Wanganeen, Matty Scarlett, Alex Rance, etc... wouldn't have been able to cover up the inept turnovers that they dished out.

Melbourne were losing Hogan no matter what, the fact that got him (may) and talented BUT injured KK for a single pick is excellent. We have been told all fortnight GC requested of Pies (and others but mostly aimed at us) for May 2 firsts rounders one being top 5.
I thought it was a top 5 pick.

No it doesn't.

It shows that GCS have stuffed up their salary cap. KK is a very average player anyway (maybe at best a round 3 pick if on his own).
Yeah dunno what people are going on about with KK. He’s 1 or 2 concussions from retiring. That’s why he’s free.

KK isn't very good let's be honest. Melbourne on paper may look better but the quality of player has reduced. Jesse Hogan is a much much better player than May. Melbourne rolled over to Fremantle because May was on the table.

Jesse Hogan is a 23 year old kid who just kicked 47 goals despite missing 4-6 games an injured foot and having testicular cancer. He'd be a 65+ goal a year forward in our team and also has the ability to run through the midfield Roughead style. It should have been a two first rounder trade every day of the week.

Yes he is, he has been injured. Rising star nomination in his debut year, in the games he has played he has done well.

Melbourne now have May, Lever, O McDonald, Smith, Frost with Jetta, Hibberd, KK, Salem, Fritsch down back
Tom McDonald and Weideman as Key Forwards supported by Petracca and Melksham
Solid position given a midfield of Gawn, Oliver, Brayshaw, Viney, Jones et alia
I'd rather have Hogan.

If you had 2 cows and got back a goat, would you say you paid 1 cow and a goat?

Monetary payments don't work with this system of trade commodity.

I'll try another way of getting through to you.

We got Treloar and pick 35 (?) and paid two first rounders
We got Treloar and Sier and paid two first rounders
We got Treloar and paid 1 first rounder and downgraded a first rounder to second round.

All the above are accurate ways of describing the trade.

We got Treloar and paid 2 first rounders

Is not an accurate way to describe the trade.

Yeah, so explain how we would have got a pick in the top 10?

Gold coast are after players, the club needed to make a bundle worth their time. Like a said a surplus of smalls and pick 18 could certainly be equal to top 10 in GC situation.

There defence needs May big time. The younger McDonald is out of his depth on key opposition talls.
Cox tore him a new one on Queens birthday as well. Now the older McDonald can stay forward & the younger one gets less dangerous opponents.
Good call list wise. I like Hogan but think he is a little over valued.

I obviously rate Hogan much higher than others and may much lower. I reckon Hogan is worth both sides of the Melbourne GCS trade. I'd want May, KK and Pick 6 for Hogan.

Our forward line will still pull their pants down
