One thing the media missed about Gil’s comment on the draft today, was I reckon he seemed to hint that only the top end 18 yo’s might get picked this year. Maybe 1 per team with any other picks older players or delisted players
Maybe, maybe not. Only takes one team to bid on him early...So we get Reef for Cheap then IF only get 1 18 year old?
Can someone give me a brief synapses on this Reef fellow?
really good prospect, first round prospect. Can someone give me a brief synapses on this Reef fellow?
There’s one on the previous page. Can someone give me a brief synapses on this Reef fellow?
Has some kind of mullet on him.Can someone give me a brief synapses on this Reef fellow?
Been thinking about how we might need to replenish our depth soon as players like Reid, Varcoe and Dunn are obviously cooked and then Mayne, Greenwood, Langdon (injury) etc. are now approaching the end of their careers. If lists are shortened, I think it's important not to put too much stock into potential particularly for a side as injury riddled as ours who need the depth. We're gonna need players who can play and have an impact in order to win a premiership.any free agents or fringe players we should be targeting?
I'm not talking about stars, maybe someone like how crisp was at Brissy

A player I like from another club who I reckon is being played out of his best role is Sam Menegola whose toughness and ferocity would go a long way in a half-back and occasional tagging role. If you look past his age (will turn 29 in 2021), he would be a good pick up particularly if Greenwood can't come good from his ACL.
I also like Tom Liberatore as a no nonsense hard-at-it midfielder but I am aware of his injury history and the fact that he is a cult hero at the Bulldogs and the supporters love him. He's a free agent this year and I think he'd add so much more to our midfield than Sier or Wills who are often the last midfield selection.
I think we have our fair share of skill and class on our list; I'd like us to go shopping for more selfless players who will let other players get more out of their abilities. Think if Libba can join us as a centre bounce starter, we can pretty much play Treloar exclusively as an outside mid where he does his most damage.
I would love to trade for a key forward but the options are appalling. Peter Wright might be the best obtainable one? And I do not rate him at all.
There is also doubt on the future of the next generation academies. The AFL asks for club views on the level of club investment in junior talent in the new economy.
Its more important in the northern states. To develop players.Sounds like the Academies might get the Ass. Though I bet Northern State teams can keep them

Who would have thought that he could be back for Round 2?!!I was told today Greenwood is flying and to not be surprised if he is back sooner then we think.
No chance that Jordy is negotiating himself a new deal at another club; they'd tear him to shreds. At Collingwood there is a mutual respect and the club won't take advantage of him. He's not going anywhere.
They may be able to go into the academy at a young age (14, I think) and develop them. But given the game is growing over in those areas, the more exposure to the game and programs the better. Plus out of all academy players, only a small percentage even get picked up. But at least the program is there to give kids a chance.Yeah but unfair they get them so young

If you wrote this for a bite - you win.
If you genuinely believe it, I feel sorry for you.
