Hha that’s fine, it’s a forum. Voice your opinion.
I don’t think we use Jordy the right way given the tools he can operate as an inside MID but that’s fine.
GeGoey and Elliot split time 50/50 as mid/fwd opening up a crowded forward line, everybody's happy
You're ready to relegate Tyler , who has shown potential in AFL games behind a future draftee & a basketball project yet to debut ?

Was interesting in listening to Derm talk about him yesterday. Reckons he could be a great pickup he just needs a decent mentor (Old key forward) to actually teach him forward craft. Said the fact he can provide proper ruck relief is invaluable.

Surprisingly (for me) he was also glowing about Cam McCarthy. Reckons he was easily the best contested mark at Gws when he was helping out there. Just hasn’t been allowed to play to his strengths.
I swing from wanting him to not wanting him. GCS concern with Wright is his lack of agression and not hitting packs hard. We already have that with Cox albeit, Wright is 6 years younger.

Wrights body work is significantly better though (doesn’t get pushed around by small defenders) and he can kick beyond 50m whereas Cox can barely kick beyond 30. I’d back improvement in the right system too tbh.

Given his youth and his ability to both genuinely kick goals and chop out in the ruck he wouldn't be a bad investment by any means, given he came on the cheap. He's also only 24 in a bit over a week - Coxy is 30 nest year. Just not sure how much Cox can improve

Absolute huge difference. Light and day. Polec has serious hurt factor. Do you remember when we played port a couple years ago and he kicked that goal of the year? He was also best on that game.
Considering the likely cost associated I don't think the difference is worth it whatsoever. Also, any 27 year-old about to join his 4th club is something I don't want to touch

Polec is soft and unaccountable, pretty much another WHE... We already have way too many of those types.

My main concern is that we don’t seem like the kind of place to come to if you still need to learn forward craft.

I think we desperately need a specialist coach in that area, even with all the soft cap restrictions coming in.

Whoever is the talent scout at Richmond, we need to hire them ASAP.

Their 2019 premiership team had 7 guys who weren't even National draft selections, and one was taken at 67.

They've picked up

Dyl Grimes (#2 pre-season draft 2010)
2015 Rookie Draft
- Short #11
- Castagna #29
- Lambert #46
- Soldo #68
- Chol #30

2018 Rookie Draft
- Baker #18
- Aarts #16

Marlion Pickett in the MID season draft too.
Sydney Stack 2019 pre season draft selection.

Simply incredible. Biggest thing is however is that they all buy into the system and the method. We have too many guys who aren't selfless enough.

Given Richmond have completely shafted the bloke that built their list, the possibility of hiring him could actually exist if the club was brave enough to make some decent changes.

Blair Hartley? What do you mean shafted? His LinkedIn still says he’s the GM of football talent at Richmond....

I‘d say it’s very likely we’ll trade Murphy ... or delist him.

He’s been around for long enough that surely if the club saw him as having a future with us they’d be pumping games into him. Particularly given our availability issues.

He is contracted till end of 2022. He ain’t going anywhere unless someone pays over.

Yeah you’re probably right. Probably should have considered his contractual status.

You’d think given that commitment and the time he’s already been on our list, we’d be getting games into him though.
