I'm so set on hitting up GWS for Finlayson and Hately/Caldwell (all 3 uncontracted beyond 2020). What are they worth?

Corr is leaving, so they probably need a replacement back. Zac Williams might also be leaving, so Whitfield will play at half back, they could do with a wingman (they also lost Tomlinson season)

Shaz + Phillips for Finlayson + Hately/Caldwell, plus move some picks around

Ben Ronke will probably be delisted by the Swans, pick him up as a rookie. We desperately need a crumbing small forward, he's worth a shot. Career average stats: 11 touches, 1 goal, 3 tackles per game

Delist: Beams, Dunn, Varcoe, Reid, Broomhead

team:

fb: Moore, Howe, Roughy
hb: Maynard, Crisp, Quaynor
c: Treloar, Pendles, Daicos
fol: Adams, Grundy, Hately/Caldwell
hf: Sidey, Mihocek, Elliott
ff: Stevo, Finlayson, De Goey
int: Cox, Noble, Sier, McInnes

emg: Ronke, TBrown, Langdon, Mayne, CBrown, Greenwood, Thomas, Kelly, Hoskin-Elliott, Bianco, Rantall, Ruscoe, Madgen, other draft picks

HOW CAN THAT TEAM NOT CHALLENGE?

Priority should be to resign our stars, get rid of the old farts taking up salary cap space, and grab a couple gettable players that won't demand too much...

Why would GWS want a player who is shot, and another who cant hit a target?

Lots of shit players get trade deals done, happens every year. They also keep getting games every week, so the coaches and staff see something us fans don't...

specific to those trades:
Corr is leaving, they need another defender
They play better with Whitfield at half back, they lost Tomlinson last year, Perryman gets thrown around, they could do with a wingman

Shaz??? Scratch matches dont count.
I dunno man, I'm just throwing shit around. I keep reading Jeremy Cameron, Ben Brown, people wanted Tom Lynch, we can't even afford to resign Checkers rofl

Players can't get games at one club, move clubs, and are best 22. This shit happens ALL THE TIME

If Bigfooty knows Shaz has nothing left, the footy world knows he has nothing left. I think he’ll struggle to be on a list next year let alone be able to be used as a trade piece.

It’s a dying shame I was over the moon when we drafted him, desperately wanted him to come to us but his body has just let him down :(. Really depressing really.

Unless they’re allowed to play 26 with 22 on the field at any one time, I’m not sure recruiting everyone in sight is that great a strategy.

And for every guy you recruit on big bucks you diminish what you've got to pay the bottom 6 players which can also diminish the overall team performances rather than drive the improvement you're seeking when you grab the guy you're paying the big bucks to. Salary cap is a bitch.

Outside the 1st rd they have pick 25 and 57 at present. They won’t offer 25 for him and we wouldn’t/shouldn’t sell for pick 57.

I think he needs another 18 months before we know the finished product. Look how far Daicos has come in 12 months. 12 months ago I and many others had written him off
But brown looked good 12 months ago
Now his pretty average

I'm not sure if this has already been mentioned, but Cam McCarthy just quit Fremantle. If you could pick him up for minimum salary, is he worth the experiment? Could be another Roughead 'nothing to lose' kind of pick up. Who knows though, maybe he is completely cooked.

There is a Thread about it
