RICHMOND

2024 FINISH: 18TH (2-21)

DRAFT PICKS: 1, 24, 32, 42, 44, 50, 60, 69, 75
TARGETS: Ben Hobbs
DEPARTING: Dylan Grimes, Dustin Martin, Marlion Pickett, Sam Naismith (retired)
STILL WAITING: Matthew Coulthard, Mate Colina, Thomson Dow, Kamdyn McIntosh, James Trezise
HOW THE DEALS GET DONE: It’s a fire sale at Richmond. Liam Baker, Daniel Rioli and Shai Bolton want out. Does this work? Baker to West Coast for pick 14 (secured from Hawthorn in the Tom Barrass trade), Rioli and a sweetener to Gold Coast for pick 6 and Bolton to Fremantle for picks 10 and 18. That’s good business for the Tigers. Jack Graham looks set to depart for West Coast as a free agent. The Tigers have reportedly shown interest in Hobbs and need some ready-made players to avoid being horrendously bad in 2025.
TEAM NEEDS: Picks, picks and more picks. The Tigers know where they are and they need star-level teenagers. Some AFL standard players would help take the pressure off the kids, and they would need those players right across the field.
WHY NOT: Someone like Essendon’s Will Setterfield would help take the heat off the young midfielders and would be a solid citizen for young Tigers to learn off.

WHY NOT: He has struggled to get his body right the past two seasons, but a move to Sydney could be a fresh start for Richmond’s Tom Lynch as the exodus begins. The Swans have almost always had star power inside the forward 50, with Tony Lockett, Barry Hall and Lance ‘Buddy’ Franklin. If Lynch can get his body right, he’d be that big name target the Swans crave.

WHY NOT: Shai Bolton. The Dockers and Tigers are likely to haggle over which of Fremantle’s two first round picks form part of the deal so if talks break down, there’s an opportunity for West Coast to enter the picture. Bolton also obviously has a pre-existing relationship with new coach Andrew McQualter.

WHY NOT::cool: With Liam Jones ageing and Rory Lobb still learning in defence, should the Dogs try and get in front of Noah Balta? He is a free agent next year so it may be worth laying the groundwork now.

Barrett saying 10+11 is overs for Bolton, 6 is overs for Rioli.
Also said O'Rourke has been silent all year then pops up and talks tough at the b&f, why doesn't he talk tough and hold Rioli and Bolton to their contracts
I wish Bevo had punched the shit outta this f##king campaigner !!!.....piece of utter shit !!!

People need to get pick #13 out of their heads as its not going to happen
GC needs 1st round picks next year for 4 academy kids that all are looking like 1st rounders this year and they are the priority for them long term.

Rioli is for now and they are happy to pay full value #6 and in this draft it certainly is full value for a contracted Daniel Rioli
The only thing we may get extra would be #20 or #26 with a later pick going back

Ill take that
I'm ok for 6 and 20.

AFL are going to change the rules just before Noah Balta gives us pick 2 next year.

Noah will be re-signed over the summer, bookmark it.

We expecting anything to get done today?

In terms of trades? For us? Probably not. We need Barass to get done for Baker, Freo and GC know they need to do some work to get the Bolton and Rioli deals done.

Jack Darling and Alex Neale-Bullen should be done today.

We will hear a lot more on the Graham situation I think.

Do you think the Bolton deal will stretch out till the last day?

Tough one. Freo are talking tough but in all seriousness, I think they would like it done before the end.

Just a guess but I’d say it will be done before then.
AFL will probably hold it to the last day. It's likely to be a straight forward trade between 2 teams with us keeping the picks so doesn't effect anything else.

GC need to do Rioli trade so they can trade for futures etc and help Carlton with Houston so that should be done before last day.

Baker they may hold until last day too.

Thoughts on Gerreyn?
Could be in that range. ESPN have him ranked at pick 19

19. Kayle Gerreyn (21)

West Perth/Western Australia

RUCK/FWD, 199cm

National Champs: 4 games, 12.5 disposals, 9.0 hitouts, 1.2 goals

WAFL Colts: 11 games, 21.5 disposals, 6.2 marks, 1.6 goals

There isn't much buzz around Gerreyn, but there should be. The WA tall put up multiple 30-disposal, 30-hitout, two-goal performances and earned a WAFL berth off the back of undeniable form. For a battling WA side he was also one of their best at the champs. Gerreyn is unique; he's a beautiful field kick off both feet plus has soft hands in the ruck and around the ground, but is more likely to find a home up forward where he kicks goals in a variety of ways. He isn't a huge aerial presence but if it all clicks Gerreyn could be the steal of the draft.

Best traits similar to: Riley Thilthorpe

we will have to wait the whole period to get done
AFL want the period to be full of events to keep peoples attention
fingers crossed we can knock Rioli this week at least

The Age have reported Richmond has requested 6 + 13.

"Richmond has also already said they want an extraordinary deal for them to be agree to Daniel Rioli’s request to be traded to the Gold Coast and has asked for the Suns’ picks six and 13."

Should force Gold Coast to give 6 and their second rounder(s)

More chance of Mr. and Mrs. Hardwick getting back together than us getting 6+13 for Rioli.
Ill Be Back Jim Carrey GIF
