FFS I knew someone would pick this apart I just didn’t think it would be you because it’s not the point of the post. Whilst it might be an unpopular opinion in here, any top 4 side would take Barrass over Balta if they are in the window and going for a flag now.

However, a team like us, you or North would obviously prefer Balta as a 24yo who (hopefully) will be playing his prime footy when the team is back in finals contention.

Players are not worth the same value to every team. Hawthorn are seemingly happy to pay pick 12 plus more for a soon to be 29 year old Barrass, but there’s no way Richmond would.

But with so many picks we have so many variable options on how to deal these picks

If I’m Freo I’d do everything to try and be relevant and win a Grand Final at some point in our history.

With your current starting midfield, getting Bolton and Baker would add that depth and Premiership winning experience to get you closer.

So what someone is worth is relevant. Clubs may pay overs because they believe that player will get them closer to what we play for.

At this point, Fremantle are the little child club in your own state. You don’t register anything across the comp. I’d say GWS have more relevance.

So that is what your footy people, executives and board will be weighing up with any player.

We got Prestia in for Pick 6 and had everyone laugh at us. We “paid overs” but won a flag so who ****ing cares.
