Any word on Jacob konstanty? With mrj, mansell and campbell in the team I don’t think we really need him do we? Only bring it up because people were mentioning him to us not long ago

Gold Coast believes Daniel Rioli wants to make a fresh start of his career at the Suns, happy to allow relative Maurice Rioli to continue his career at Punt Road and up for a fresh challenge after nine seasons.
Rioli is contracted until 2027 at Richmond and the Suns have had no preliminary discussions with the Tigers over a trade but are hopeful Adem Yze will eventually be open minded.

Rioli and Nick Vlastuin are likely to compete for the Jack Dyer Medal this year, with the Tigers likely to be able to secure two late first-round picks from the Suns if they come to the party.

Rioli proposed to partner Paris Lawrence during this year’s off-season bye but she could continue her DJing career in Brisbane and Gold Coast if they relocated.

Relative Maurice just signed a two-year deal so is now established at Punt Road with a strong future ahead of him.

But it remains possible the Tigers might simply refuse to trade Daniel Rioli given he is contracted even though the incentive of two first-round picks for a player who will be 28 in April will be tempting.

It comes with Adelaide interested in home grown forward Jack Lukosius but with the Suns likely to ask for a first-round pick in exchange if he does decide to head to the Crows.

The Suns have made clear they are keen to keep Lukosius despite him finishing the season in the VFL but it seems clear their public stance is not replicated by a hands-off message behind the scenes.

WHAT SHOULD RICHMOND DO IF THEY GET FIVE PICKS WITHIN 20 IN THIS DRAFT?

An anonymous rival list boss on how Richmond can maximise their draft hand if they trade Shai Bolton and Daniel Rioli and secure five or even six picks in the top 20.
“Now is the time to strike. Hit the draft as hard as you can. It’s got everything and it’s probably the best top 20 we have seen since 2017. Now is the chance to load up. You have to nail your picks but you can pair guys up through the draft with multiple midfielders. It’s the only way for them to rebound and one day contend again.”

Pick one
Finn O’Sullivan
(Oakleigh Chargers)
“He’s the best mid in the draft. He’s a two-way runner, he’s combative. He hasn’t had a great run at this this year but in terms of what he could be, he’s a Sam Walsh type who compliments any midfield.”

Pick nine
Harry Armstrong
(Sandringham Dragons)
“He’s the best key forward in the draft. Tom Lynch is finishing up in the not-too-distant future. He’s the next generation Jeremy Cameron and he’s a local boy.”

Pick 10
Bo Allan
(Peel Thunder)
“He’s a 191cm WA kid who has played senior footy already and he can play as that third tall defender or as a big bodied mid.”

Pick 17
Matt Whitlock
(Murray Bushrangers)
“There aren’t too many good mids by this stage so he’s a good key back they could partner with Josh Gibcus. He’s a Shepparton boy, a really athletic tall, he joins in on offence and he can play forward a bit and has kicked goals there. So he’s really versatile and it would be a smart pick.”

Pick 20
Tom Gross
(Oakleigh Chargers)
“He’s a super competitive kid from Oakleigh. A 181cm midfielder and forward who just wins contests. He’s really tough, he would be a nice utility. He had a super national championships including 27 games against South Australia.”
2 late first round picks ?

g a g f

contracted till 2027, pony up dumma or we have no problem keeping

Dunno about that. A 20 year old Hopper would suffice for a mid 2nd rounder.

Even if his form's dropped away now through years of injury, Hopper was a gun for those 4 years 2018-2021 when he played over 95% of GWS games.
Yeah, I am just saying they are similar players. Size, style, pace, kicking, low agility etc. not sure we need them both in the team.

What it comes down to is what Rioli is worth to us. He is in our top 5 players at the moment. We will be getting a lot of young players in and his presence would help develop the kids. He is contracted and I'd be more than happy to keep him unless the deal is enticing.

For me I value in keeping him much greater than two late firsts.
To let him go I think it should be along:
Pick 5, future 1st and pick 25 if we pay most of his salary.
Pick 5, pick 20 and pick 25 if we don't pay any of his salary.

You would have thought we will target a ruckman of some description as depth with really Nank & Ryan as our only legit ruck options. Whose out there?

Ned Reeves?
There was reporting that the East Fremantle ruckman was attracting interest.

I wondered a few weeks back about Downie, the former Giants backup ruck who recently had 70 hit outs against us in the VFL.

I’m sure he would be serviceable.

They said in the paper that Karina Carvalho quit ABC News in Sydney.
She moved to Melbourne, now co-hosting Channel 7 Afternoons with Mike Amor.
She is dating Sam McClure.
Dumb and dumber.
heck me she must like complete douche bags. Sam Mc is barely male either.

How Melbourne let Bedford go, and didn’t give him consistent games staggers me. How we didn’t have a crack at him is just as surprising.

Well done the Giants. The kid always looked excellent.

That proposed draft haul is probably worse than we could get without trading away key senior players. 1 genuine mid, 2 KPP, 1 semi-tall utility, 1 small player that might be able to play mid. If we aren’t drafting 3 genuine mids early we may as well do a WinnieBlues.

Make of this what you will.

"Potential trade period deals for Richmond:

Current hand: 1, 21, 30, 39, 41, 48, 57, 65 and 73

Fremantle part with Picks 10 and 17 for Shai Bolton
Gold Coast part with Picks 13 and 20 for Daniel Rioli
Liam Baker traded for Fremantle's 2025 first-round - with potential for later pick swaps to satisfy
Richmond pocket a third-round draft selection (Pick 40) as compensation for the loss of Jack Graham
Using selections 30, 39, 40, 41 and 48, and potentially later picks, could also please the likes of Brisbane (Levi Ashcroft and Sam Marshall), Essendon (Isaac Kako), Carlton (Ben and Lucas Camporeale), Adelaide (Tyler Welsh) and Gold Coast (Leonardo Lombard), who will require draft points to match bids for club-tied prospects this November.

If the Lions moved Pick 14 to Punt Road, it would see the Tigers' hand read as

Picks 1, 10, 13, 14, 17, 20 and 21,

along with some later selections, for this year's National Draft, while Richmond would hold their own and Fremantle's first-round picks for next year's class."

Hopefully we are in the ear of Finn O'Callaghan and Chad Warner who are out of contract at the end of next year

Considering both players each have multi-year contracts with us we should burn Punt Road to the ground if either of these two scenarios happened. If our list management team are even half competent we'll get much more for each player

Good year to be a selling club with contracted players.

If all favourites win this weekend then 8 points will seperate 2nd and 10th with two clubs outside the top 10 in Melbourne and GC being in a position where they need to strengthen with ready made players. So regardless of how strong this draft is list managers aren't going to risk their jobs on 18 year olds when with decent recruits and some internal growth they could pinch a flag over the next couple of seasons like Collingwood did last year.

It’s our perfect storm.
