I think the ace up Himmelberg's sleeve is he has shown he can play excellent footy behind the ball. So you are not going to go wrong giving him 4-5 years at $650-700k. Worst case scenario you send him back and train Balta or Gibcus as a forward. But there may be clubs out there willing to pay appreciably more than that to get Himmelberg as a defender. Carlton, Collingwood, Crows, Port, Suns, Lions are a few clubs that would likely be very interested in pursuing that path. So I doubt we would be competitive int he market at $600k pa. But he is just not quite that proven marquee level $800k+ type player.

We wouldn’t do that , the only trade that may be a possibility is if balta is tempted by a monster offer and id be aghast if we matched at say 750+ long term but it could happen and we would be rewarded handsomely in a trade
