How would a midfield of Stanton, Heppell, Zaharakis, Hocking and Melksham go? Looks a lot weaker to me. Crameri is shit. Jenkins would have kicked 10 goals if he's lucky for us. Monfries is struggling atm. Chapman and Daniher? Have them, so no difference.

I find it amazing how pre moving to the Dogs he was good but post is shit. Leading goal kicker for Essendon in your last 3 years and has kicked more goals than any essendon forward in 2014 in a weaker side.

He was better than Gunstan in the eyes of most Bomber fans pre Dogs - he was called a gun, your best forward and almost impossible to stop. But now is shit.

It'll be very interesting to see if St Kilda do manage to get that extra pick inside the top 20. They have made their intentions very clear and we know they aren't afraid to get aggressive, so I'd say there is every chance that they will pull something quite unexpected.

I think there are two ways they can go about getting that extra top 20 pick:

1) Trade a top player in a direct swap; or
2) Upgrade a later pick to better pick by adding a player

Given their list at the moment, there aren't too many players who would get a top 20 pick in return as a straight swap. A quick browse suggests to me that Stevens, Billings, Acres, Dunstan and possibly Armitage would be the only ones. How many of them would St Kilda be willing to part with? Not many, if any. Armitage may well be the only one.

I dare say their best bet would be the 2nd option whereby they package their 2nd or 3rd pick with a player to get that higher pick.

I rate Steven very highly. I'd be open to using the Dees' pick 3/4 on him, with some spare change our way. However, I doubt the Saints will get rid of one of their few very good players.

Such a lazy statement. Eth-dog has always held that view towards Crameri, even when he was playing with us.

Except for the fact that I've been calling him a flat track bully since about round 5 2013?

It's more likey that the Saints would offer up one of their younger mids such as Seb Ross or Tom Curren with a lower pick thrown in - or perhaps someone older such as Joey.

And something like that wouldn't get close to pick 3/4 - you've got to give quality to get quality (I can see why the Saints wouldn't want to offer Steven though of course)

Ok guys, garage sale down at crowland.

What would people give up for players like:

Lyons, McKernan, Johnston, Petrenko, Sam Shaw.
I know none of them are stars, but a few of them are stuck behind quality players and just cant get a go.

Lyons is an inside mid when we already have Thompson, Danger, Crouch etc.
McKernan is stuck behind Jacobs or the tall forwards in Tex, Pods, Jenkins
Johnston ditto
Petrenko behind Betts and now young charlie cameron.

Other guys that may be on the table: Douglas, Wright

This just shows how criminally underrated he is as a player. Sorry he is our 2nd best player imo. Comfortably? Spare me.

He's a good player when he runs around like an unregistered dog.
When he has a direct opponent his impact is greatly diminished.

Cotchin and Martin are far better.

Lyons and Shaw should have some currency 30-50 range? Douglas and Wright would cost a bit more, what's up with Douglas this year? Is he not fit, he's way down on last years output.

Yeh I think it'll be a player and pick for a pick
Just an example, but armitage and 20 for say pick 11. Again, it's an example.
