Seems like this Lake trade is 4yrs too late frankly. How many more years would Lake have left in him? 2?

Maverick Weller is an interesting one. Was talked up a lot when first draft then dropped off radars. Are Gold Coast letting him go or would good players/drafts picks need to be exchanged to get it to happen?

Hawks fan as a kid apparently. Be a handy pick-up if we can get away with a 3rd round pick. Doubt that would happen, but we can hope.

Exactly, the perfect number for our premiership window. Lake is still a very good footballer, and he would help our defence out so much. We would be stupid not to trade for him.

But I suppose i forgot that on bigfooty being young is more important than being good.

Perhaps youre right. I do feel that Whitecross is seriously over rated on these boards though and the thought of being able to secure a good player from another club on the merit of this hype is appealing to me. Ive copped a bit of slack for it because he seems to be popular amongst supporters but I just notice his disposal being very average and his best being limited. Now of course there is the knee. The talk of him being a future captain is ludicrous to me. Again just my opinion.

Fair call. I thought he was a very important player for us this year, and I think we lacked his run in the GF.

I haven;t seen enough of Caddy, see Whitey every week. I know what I'm getting with Whitey and whilst he's not an A grader, he is a solid B grader.

You need to start taking more notice, if that's the case.

What a load of crap. Whitecross disposal efficiency in 2012 is 78% - that's almost elite. Internally he is rated extremely high, from a football perspective, and has outstanding leadership qualities. He is a very important player who was sorely missed throughout the finals campaign.

Clearly your football eye is average at best, so glad you are not working within the HFC football department.

Well his DE is 78%. That's elite. So i don't know what you are looking at.

His best being limited... omg... i have to tweet about this...

Frawley=Pick 20 plus Savage and Young and the Dees would be interested.

No way. Theres no way HFC would trade our two fastest outside mids and our first round for a KPD. Young wasn't in great form the finals and Savage hasn't hit his straps yet, but there is signs that he will be a very, very good player.

We don't need a star down there. We just need a big guy to create a competitive contest against the big guys.

I was thinking something much higher, great DE finds plenty of the football, using pick 41 on him would be a steal.

Yeah, 3rd rounder is really wishful thinking, but the Suns do have to get rid of at least 7 players this year, so hopefully this can help them free up some space. Let's hope it happens though

Still not as much as a whisper as to whom our recruiters may be looking at :-(

I see that the Saints have declared that they are interested in Mitch Brown so I wonder if that will force our hand on that front if we are even interested in him....either that or the Lake talk may be close to the mark I presume.

Yes, I don't think we could lose two runners, perhaps one, considering we have smith. Why wouldn't they take one of our backman, the two that could not get a game this year. Anyway, highly unlikely.

Hawks are interested in Hooker from bombers and Carlisle from Port if you believe the rumour mill and apparently we have spoke with Lakes management.

haha, what?

Ok, so at last count....

Hawthorn are interested in...

Hooker
Carlile
Delaney
Brown
Lake

And a few here have us also wanting to land Frawley, McPharlin, Gillies, Dawes or Merrett.

Perhaps it'd be quicker if I just list who we don't want in future.

P.s Someone is having a blast making up these rumours.

According to Mark Riccuito:

"Chris Dawes is on close to $500K a season. Collingwood is looking to trade off Dawes to another club to make room for Tippett, Collingwood may have to pay a percentage if his contract at another club to move him on."
Why aren't I playing footy?

Just on the Dawes point. The way he has bean trated by the pies in comparison to the clokes makes you wish that he can get somewhere else and regain form.

Dawes nothing but loyal and twavis screws then around bigtime
This. Also, I thought he was one of their best against us in the final.

Dont forget Pears! haha

Agree totally. Lake is a player we need, now.
We don't need potential 10 year players at present, we need trades that can win the premierships. Remember when picked Stuart Dew instead of David Zaharakis to get the '08 win.

Disagree, we can't go sharking for players with little regard for the medium to long term future. We pay our List Managers good coin to build a list that can hunt a premiership this year whilst positioning for long term competitiveness - ala Sydney (03-12) Geelong (04-12) and Collingwood (06-12)

My god this talk of Zac Clarke is making me sick. DO NOT WANT!
Yes, he is athletic but he definitely isn't the answer for a ruck/forward role at all.
Dawes is an interesting one as he does have a strong body, his elite endurance is also something of note. Not sure how he would go playing down back though and what we would have to give up to get him probably wouldn't be worth it imo.

I have it on good authority that he isnt coming home anyway
