Did anyone here the discussion re Hawthorn on SEN this morning? I only caught the tail end of it but they were saying that a big man from the Swans is 97% down the path to coming to terms with the Hawks. The source was the players Mum apparently.

My guess would be Mumford, or of course it could be load of crap. Anyone else here this?

If that happens, watch me do a 180 and go from hating Mumford to loving him :p

I caught the tail end of it also, I wasn't sure who they were talking about but I made the assumption. I know that we are very much into him.

I was told of this prior to Barret mentioning it on the Footy Show a month or so back.

As long as it's not Jesse White, I'm ok with it.

Hale has a contract for next year
Bailey doesn't yet

Ceglar is a rookie
Grimley is more a forward, but also out of contract this year
Lowdon is scared of body contact

Hope they still keep Bailey and get rid of either Grimley or Lowdon. Haven't seen enough of Box Hill to say which one.

Grimleys that far ahead of Lowden it's not funny!
But with Grimley out of contract, maybe a trade is on the cards, who knows
What do we have to give up for Mumford, as he isn't a restricted free agent
Would have to be something significant

Bailey is overall a better tap ruckman. We look better when his in the team. Our midfielders win a lot more centre clearances as well. Hale is an average ruckman, with a good mark, but hasnt really hit the score board this year.

Although can't really have Mummy and Bailey in the same side

Why not were currently playing Hale and Bailey, Mummy reminds me a lot of Robert Campbell. He can also pinch hit in the forward-line as well. Mummy is an upgrade to Hale, it would be stupid to get rid of Bailey firstly his younger than Hale and we've carried him all these years. I actually think his had good year this year.

Sydney got him for a second round draft pick. Wouldn't want to give up more than that

is mumford a restricted free agent ?? 28 next year really hope we don't give up alot to get him like another first round draft pick that could potential ruin the club down the line , if he was coming cheap i'd be all for it and i see why sydney could let him go now with tippett but i just think midfielders surely has to be a prime target come trade/draft period

C'mon mate, think about it
Sydney got him when he was third in line at the Cats behind Ottens and Blake ( yes Blake ) he was a young inexperienced player
They knew of Cats salary squeeze and offered money and game time accordingly

He is now first choice ruck at the reigning premiers, with a Premiership medallion in his bedside drawer
And now an experienced senior player

Gotta give a bit more I'd say

He's not a restricted free agent.........I think he's only been at Sydney for around 4 years.....we will have to give something up.

Just because we are targeting Mumford, doesn't mean we are going to neglect midfielders. We have two pressing issues which hopefully we can consolidate come the trade period/draft.

His no longer first choice ruckman, Martin Pike has gone passed him, Tippet has also squeezed the Swans salary cap.

Maybe you're right as our second round will be quite shit this year, but our first round might be just too much considering his age.
