Shiel is a poor kick.

I'd take joey at the contract allegedly being offered White, that being 3x350k. Super outside player, clear upgrade! Up their with Stanton as a damaging outside runner. Ladies love him as well...

All of this is correct. :thumbsu: Shiel shanks more than Shank Edwards. :thumbsu:

I think if you put a Montagna into the middle then suddenly our midfield really starts to take shape.

I believe the heirarchy at Richmond think the window is much closer then people think on these boards and the players we are being linked with (Chapman/Montagna) are all players that sides who are looking to win a flag recruit.

Montagna is a fit, healthy 30 year old without many injury concerns. If he is keen to leave I'd offer him a contract. Upgrade on White & experience. Was one of the best midfielders in the comp during St Kilda's better years & had a stand out season last year.

Montagna IMO will set is back, not ready to win a premiership against the likes of Sydney and set us back for future years premierships. Montagna is the opposite of what we should be doing IMO. Good things happen to those that wait like Arsenal with Ozil

Spot on. I think we're having a crack next year. Freo are beatable. Hawks have just lost Buddy. Sydney are old and have a few injury prone blokes. Cats are starting to get rid of some old guys to blood youngsters. Why not have a crack.

I think we should think about trading some of our older players for Gunston of the Hawks.

Only 22 he will set is up in 3-4 years when our draft picks and development really kick in:thumbsu:

Hawks plenty of salary cap space after Buddy, want a premiership and we need to improve the youth in our team:thumbsu:

Agreed.

Our list is still young. Adding a 30 year old is hardly going to destroy it. I reckon Joey could give us another 2-3 years providing his body holds up.

Please dont post every unlikely scenario that pops into your head

Montagna > Ozil.

Now that GWS have bowed out of the race for franklin, what are our chances of getting adams or shiel?

In 2007 Hawks finished 5th. Recruited Dew. Won the flag in 2008.

Hardwick was part of that and helped create belief in the playing group.

He'll be doing the same thing at Richmond. Absolutely the coaching group think we can win a flag next year. Why not? Hawks did it in a similar position.

I know us supporters are far more measured... But we should accept that the club will be trading with a premiership in mind. It's a true perspective of our club's position.

Hey guys (Magic) ,lets try to keep this thread to actual rumours so that posters dont have to scroll through a hundred pages of outlandish, never .
going to happen, crazy and impossible random ideas :).

so Buddy to the Swans is not outlandish??

Some of you guys really need to open your mind and improve your range otherwise people will bypass you like the Swans

So 1 outlier with a massive advantage over every other club bar 1 is the basis for this?

I don't think you've sold me. By all means speculate but make it reasonable please.

Better get used to getting beat by the Swans if you don't adjust.

See the Swans, they adjusted and f... off Roos, now being a obstacle for Dew, need to get ruthless RFC in your strategy!!

Unreasonable is a BS word, we are all grown ups, this is not kindergarten!

Or the other way you could look at it is, they have screwed their list management by paying 2 players 20% of their tpp for a long time. I would have serious reservations about this and every other club in the comp has said this including the premiers. I think you float in the wind a little, go with the news of the week, and i'm glad we have more of a strategic method of list management.

Also what do you have against 'unreasonable' as a word? Is it that you don't know what it means?

Where will the Journos go for the big scoop now?
Robbo wont be happy, this extra work will surely cut into happy hour

Evidently not, please magic, I have asked nicely. Just be realistic is all I ask.
Ps. My mind is open, can you please close yours a little ;)

Firstly Hawks and pies are in the news about the move, why?? Eg. Eddie and Brereton, because it affects their premiership prospects in the next 2 years and others because they have been hurt with the realisation they have been too stupid not to see it IMO.

You may think I float with the wind, but I have been pretty consistent with my youth promotion and years ahead projections for our premierhip glory. For what it is worth I breathe the air around me.

Alright astute one, what is our list management strategy, how will it help us win a premiership. Don't need to get sensitive, don't need to mention names/players or years but what is the general approach and why against our strengths and weakness versus the opposition will this si-called strategy position us with the best chance(s) for a premiership(s) ?

Furthermore, I know what unreasonable is. I know what the Swans have done is reasonable within the rules and current political climate, I know tanking is unreasonable. The question is what is unreasonable to you and is your perception realistic IMO
