Gibbs is not a significantly better player than Hartlett over their careers. Gibbs just happens to be coming off of a career best year while Hartlett just happens to be coming off a career worst year. If we were asking this question in 2015 it would have been Hartlett by a mile.

People have quickly forgotten how utterly awful Gibbs was last year! Worse than Hartlett this year imo.

Unless this group turns up with a better attitude and skill level, it won't make any difference who we pick up. Carlton-Judd still shit. Cows-Dangerfield still shit. GC-Gary A still shit. It's all about the want to win and a play as a team, no room for big headed individuals if you want to make GF. Let's just get rid of the list cloggers like O'Shea, Stewart, Arch and S Gray and get stuck into a good pre season.

I have posted this in another thread :

Pick 9 & Broadbent <> Sydney's Picks 14 & 17?

Then on trade Pick 17 & Ah Chee <> GC Picks 22 & 30

So Out : 9 Ah Chee & Broadbent <> In : 14, 22 & 30

So we lose a good pick, a good player, and an average player and we get back a average pick and two chances in a lucky dip.

Horrible idea.

Gibbs is an A-grade flog no doubt but how anyone can think Hartlett is an equal or better footballer has me stumped. You'd do that swap without even thinking and would probably throw in a second rounder just to make it happen.

Reports, from Mitch Cleary and Trade Radio, that Ah Chee wants to join his bro at GC. Can't see him being worth a second rounder, but could we sweeten the deal with Ah Chee and our third rounder for GC pick 22?

Broadbent said he won't be traded
Another who supposedly loves the club. Get ****ed one and all of Broadbent, Hartlett, Lobbe etc. who demand to stay when the club wants to trade them. Say you're happy with living here and it'd be too much work to move elsewhere, but when the club wants to improve the list by moving you on and you refuse, stop ****ing insulting us by saying your thwarting of the clubs wishes is because you love the club. If you did you'd go, even if you wanted to stay.

Gibbs is also a few years older than Hartlett, so straight swap is a big no!
He's 1 year older.

Hartlett isn't in his early 20s anymore and we're not waiting for him to develop and hit his peak. He's 26 and any inconsistency is down to him now.

Gold Coast currently have second round picks 22, 24 and 30 and third round pick 44. We have no second round picks and third round pick 49. I cannot see Gold Coast giving up a second rounder for Ah Chee. If we package Ah Chee and 49 would they be prepared to send us 30?

Wait till the trading death... GC might not even use some of the 2nd round picks! as they would need to delist more! so might be surprised what they would send across

Ah Chee + pick 49 for GC pick 26 or 30.

Oshea for St Kilda pick 50.

Broadbent for Sydney pick 17.

Lobbe for ANYTHING WE CAN GET. (But hopefully a late second rounder - maybe WBD pick 40 ontraded to Syd for Nankervis)
