If we got Redden and Polec, wow, exciting times ahead.
Can't see why they'd do it, but when you are desperate, you make things happen.

Brown Talia Otten
Jaensch Thompson Van Berlo
Mackay Thompson Crouch
Polec Johnston Damgerfield
McKernan Walker Knights
Jacobs Sloane Redden
Vince Douglas Smith Petrenko

Scariest team that I've seen the Crows have since the Premierships.

Given Rutten and Johncock omissions I guess this is your vision for 3/4 years time. Probably have to take Scotty Thompson out also if that's the case since they're all around the same age. If this were the case, we're suddenly looking very light on quality talls - even with Johnston and Lynch coming in. Frankly I think even with those two guys, plus keeping Tippett we need to add a couple more.

If he had already signalled internally that intent, we'd be keen to move him on, which by literally every single statement coming out of the club, we're not.

He may have the intention to leave - but if he does, he hasn't signalled it to the club, and supposedly they've sat down with him and discussed it.

We're not going to trade Tippett, and Brisbane is not going to trade Redden. People shouldn't get their hopes up - Redden is not coming to the Crows.

Keep chipping away Stabby sooner or later some will listen to reason...maybe.:D Trading Redden would ensure Vossy is gone at the end of the year, hell trade out entire midfield...Black is good for another 5 years.

The thing that worries me is how cagey they've been all trade week, we really have had very little idea about what has been going on. Unlike when Rendell was in charge, Noble has not signalled our every move to the media well before they occur.

I have great faith that Tippett would never screw us over, I wonder whether he's internally signalled that he would like to move back to Queensland this year or next, but has let the Crows keep the higher ground by not coming out and publically stating it. I hope not, because I don't want to lose Tippett, just seems to be one too many trustworthy sources suggesting that there is something in the winds.

Assuming we keep Tippett, I think we'd look something like this if our other prospective trades go through.

B: Brown Rutten Johncock (Talia)

HB: Jaensch L Thompson Tambling (Petrenko)

C: Mackay Van Berlo Dangerfield (Knights)

HF: Vince Tippett Johnston (McKernan)

F: Wright Walker Porplyzia (Callinan)

R: Jacobs Thompson Sloane (Smith)

(Bracketed players to be either interchange or emergency)

EDIT:

OUT: Knights IN: Dangerfield

+ Crouch2012!, Riley, Douglas, Jenkins, Lyon, Craig, Young, Martin.....Reilly and Doughty

Not too shabby really.

Anyone make much of this?

Not exactly sure what is meant by Redden isnt convinced?

I'm pretty sure that Mitch Clarke won't go to Melbourne. He WANTS to be home with his little girls. That's Perth. Mind you, there's no love lost between him and the crazzy coach. ;) But he had contracts sitting in front of him for the last 6 or so months from GWS - with at least as big $$$ that the Dees have offered - and for 3 or 4 years. I don't think it's about money.

Brisbane won't trade Redden. He is worth more than Tippett by himself.

I'm not too fussed either way, because I don't think Brisbane will offer Polec and eight either. That I would also take, but I'm not a big Tippett fan. I just don't think he's a forward. I think it is hard for other forwards to work in the space with him and he doesn't have a footy brain. He'll have four great games a year, but nothing you can rely on.

Is it my eyes or is Dangerfield missing from that list?

this

so bleedingly obvious on so many occasions yet so rarely acknowledged. he is marketed as a star by a team which has had little to market in recent times but he'll never be one unfortunately. really hope we manage to move him now cos we'll not get much for him next year

Thanks for the updates FAITH! So were probably waiting on the Johnston medical which could take place today. I'll have to losten to TWR I reckon.

Sando must mean business! Off to convince a big fish?! Hehe..

Sorry spexau.
I dont have much more to report tonight.

Last text i got was: 'Tippet is more likely to stay than go, crows want polec and redden, brisbane have said redden no chance'.

Seems to me Polec is a yes and probably 2 1st rounders?

I will get in touch again with my source on Sunday afternoon, see if anything else is happening.

If we can get Polec and 2 first rounders, it must be done. I dont want Tippett to go but every player has his price and that is a Judd like compensation.

Pure speculation.

Lets say tippett has said internally he is considering moving at the end of next year.

As soon as we advertise externally he will move, his price goes down.

There is no benefit in this.

We can just back ourselves in to keep him next year if we can't get the deal we want, and we don't have to deal with speculation over what will already occur.

Highly surprised if this happens. Don't you take Noble at his word. Repeatedly said Tippett is not up for trade and I for one believe him.

Lewis Johnstone is a forward and has the potential to be a bloody good one but we need Tippett next year.

My preference is to keep Tippett, as I'm concerned about our forward line if we trade him out after losing Gunston as well.

That's why we must not trade Tippett unless it's a deal that cannot be refused.

I can refuse Polec. I can refuse draft picks, which are speculative by nature.

But if Brisbane put up Redden with Polec

or

Redden plus pick 8

then that is the tipping point - I would give in and trade Tippett.

The trade must include Redden and something of value i.e pick 8 or Polec.

I don't want to hear crap from Brisban e that we can't let Redden go.

Fine. We can't let Tippett go.

Tippett is the prize here. He has to be bought and if Brisbane don't want to pay that price, it doesn't matter. We want to keep him.

Macca, I woud like you to be negotiating with Noble. I wish you sat on the Gunston trade:thumbsu:

If we want to Win a Premiership we NEED Tippett! I can't seeing us being able to win one without him.

Geelong have been pretty good for the last 5 years without having a dominant key forward:rolleyes:. That being said we should definitely keep Tippett, with the right structure and better delivery we could do anything with this team:thumbsu:
