Surely this is crap!!! I'm guessing it's a schoolie trying to suck in the Blues faithful ,I'm not buying it.

No Stamos was being serious. Except I think Cartlon are paying overs. Only if the saint throw in a pick and agree to pay all of Mcleans contract should we even consider this:D

you guys are funny .. you guys are dreaming if you think st kilda would let go of goddard

Of course they won't want to let Goddard go, but they may not have a choice.

If the Saints found out that Goddard had had enough and intended to leave, do you think they'd prefer to trade him now or lose him for nothing once free agency sets in?

You are mad if you believe in the latter.

FWIW I don't think he will leave but stranger things have happened.

lets see ..i hope you know something that i dont ... it'll all begins next week ...its gonna be big ..and dont get to caught up about coach playing things down ..its to thwart abit of expectations .

I just heard this from a reliable club source: Brock Mclean to be traded for Mike Sheahan's Top 50.

Unfortunately it's just a copy of his Top 50 from Herald Sun. Not the actual players. The club is seriously considering this.

I don't get how Richmond fit into the deal

Carlton - McLean > StKilda
StKilda - Goddard > Carlton, Dal Santo >GWS
GWS - Mini Pick 1 > Carlton :thumbsu:

This is not as crazy as it sounds.

I have it on good authority that Dal Santo barracked for GWS as a kid !! ;)

For those of you that didn't quite pick up on the jocular attitude of my post, I was 'aving a bit of a laugh with what is quite obviously a school-holiday lie (although i hope it's true :D).

I will say this though: It seems very unusual to me that all senior staff interviewed (thus far only Ratten and Swan) before trade period have played an extremely straight bat.

By them saying that we will have minimal involvement, I can go two obvious ways:
1) Believe them and not expect much from trade week
2) Presume that something is occurring behind closed doors and we are, in fact, going to land that 'big fish' (which we've been trying to land for the last 1-2 years).

For whatever reason, for me, I believe the latter.

GWS - Mini Pick 1 > Carlton :thumbsu:

So, basically:

SAINTS
IN: McLean
OUT: Goddard, Dal Santo

CARLTON
IN: Mini Pick #1
OUT: McLean

GWS
IN: Dal Santo
OUT: Mini Pick #1

Somehow, I really don't think the Saints will jump at that one :D

Blues will make a big trade this year.

LAtest word is McLean and O'Hailpin will be offered around, and could potentially be traded as a big package deal to either Melbourne or the Bulldogs

Now that collingwood are on the slide and the cats starting to age, it's time to strike now that the premiership window is opening

Simply not happening! No way McLean is going back to Melbourne, they woulndt want him back. And how stupid would we look if we traded him back

Not as stupid as we'd look paying him $350-$400k for playing in the 2s

I agree entirely with Stamos. If they want him back they can have him back. IMO he is of no use to us whatsoever. (Would LOVE to be proved wrong though)

I think we will get something for him. A developing team will take him. GWS, Richmond, Melbourne etc

3rd Round Pic? Or Maybe more with O'halpin or lucas or 3 way deal?

Could be a win / win. We free up cap space and they have a bigger bodied midfielder (Although Snail Pace slow) to help their developing midfield.

Cant see how we would be worse off.
