Setanta does not fit the criteria that fits Port's needs. Henceworth there would be no way that we will be picking him up. Has nothing to do with whether he would get a game in our best 22. End of story.

Some of you guys think that Port are about to trade out our good players and replace them with guys that don't get games at Melbourne clubs. Living in a fantasy world.

North supporter told ne he was a inside midfeder and we need them so that why

We do need an inside midfielder but there's no need to trade for Garlett.

We have plenty on our list that would be preferred to Garlett in the role of inside midfielder.

Garlett is nothing more than an average footballer. He wouldn't get a game for us.

Garlett is Fairly good. Rack up possesions but dose not get game time

Not sure about Freo but West Coast are into Colyer in a big way. 50/50 whether he will stay ... very homesick.

Will be interesting to see what Essendon can get from West Coast by trading Colyer & Hardingham

Freo were really keen to draft Colyer but didn't get the chance. However, if WC want him they have probably got more to trade. They have a lot of good players not getting a game at the moment who they would consider moving on. Not sure we do.

Don't listen to Rucci. He has a terrible strikerate - hasn't been right about something for months. Maric and Craig got along fine.

Didn't get that from Rucci. This is from a driver at my work who is good friends with a recruiting manager with one of the Vic clubs.

Hi guys

Does anyone have word on who the 'big hawthorn player' is that is meant ot be up for trade?

When did this 'big hawthorn player' up for trade get brought to your attention? Sam Mitchell was the name that kept bobbing up through the year for no logical reason. Just a smokescreen though Smokie, I think.

Lots of rumors about Brad Ebert to Port.

He still hasn't signed which can't be a good sign for the Eagles. I think Port will be looking to offer their second round pick.

I guess we may find out this week. It seems players like to wait until after mad monday now days.

I can't see how an Ebert deal can get done.

You aren't going to offer pick 6

Your pick 30ish isn't going to cut it either.

Even if we throw in our 1st rounder of about 21 - you are still not going to offer pick 6.

Hardingham is good. Eagles need a player like that, wasn't he pretty damn solid for the first half of the season.

Depends what both are worth I guess.

Stevens didn't gather as many votes as I thought he would in the Sandover.

What a chunky HBF/BP type???
We have Waters, Hurn, Smith and Butler

Wasn't he drafted as a HFF type??
Again not really what WC need.

WC will be looking for mids and tall defenders.

Ebert would not be worth close to pick 6 from what I have seen of him.

Agreed - that's why i said port aren't going to offer their pick 6

Still - pick 30 in a compromised draft isn't going to cut it either

And i can't see any players on Port's list that would be of value that they would be willing to let go

Salopek perhaps

This is the sort of deal that gets done with 3rd and 4th parties.

Hardingham was near AA for the first half of the season. He is a medium sized that can take the third tall. Maybe I don't know enough about what you need, I'm not trying to troll, i am just commenting what I have seen as I watch heaps of WCE games as my mates are ALL WCE fans. Smith should have played against the Cats but that is just my opinion.

hahahhahahahahahahaha

hahahhahahahahahahaha

I saw him play a bit first half of the season and thought he was good but I heard a lot of Ess and non Ess fans say he was very good. Maybe I am wrong then? I watched more of the 2nd half of the season to comment and from what I saw he wasn't as good but I heard a lot of comments he was near AA squad quality.

Dunno if its because you're a typical blues supporter, but yeah I can admit I commented based on what other supporters said.

Thank god some sense, i cant stand north supporters shopping around Cruize Garlett. . .

I dont care how great or inside north supporters think he is, at 174cm and 74kgs he isnt going to be 'supporting' anyone. . .

and noth supporters want a first rounder for him, he cant even get a game at your club..

straight swap for Warnock? - you need a another penetrating kick out of the back line and Melbourne are desperate for a big body in the middle.

I don't think any North supporter has suggested a 1st rounder for Cruize. A mid-late 2nd rounder is about right.

At Melbourne definitely be behind Moloney, Sylvia and Trengove, and probably behind McKenzie and Gysberts. He'd get a game but if I were Melbourne I wouldn't trade for him.

You're right, we do need a good, penetrating kicker in defence. So why on earth would we want Warnock?

Garlett is awful.

Fringe player thread

He'd only be behind Cotchin, Martin and Foley at Richmond. You guys need midfield depth. He's exactly the type of player you should be targeting given he'd come reasonably cheaply.

By the way, your North Melbourne bashing is getting tiresome.

He's a fringe 22 player that can walk in to the side, win contested footy, lay tackles, and pick up 20-25 disposals.

I rather keep him than trade him for pick 40.
