Yeah. Early on Nick stated he would like to keep the number in honour of his dad.
That's when I knew it was his.
Same. That doco before he was drafted, he mentioned it a couple times, then again on draft night.

Interesting that Josh wanted to forge his own identity and knocked back 35. Indicates a difference between Nick and Josh, though not quite sure what that means, if anything.

It means they're two different people?

It means they’re both going to be quadruple premiership-winning players for Collingwood.

Nick is just about the most confident kid I've ever seen at the club. Nothing fazes him. He's not the shy type.
You need to be if requesting #35.
The confidence in himself to wear it and do it proud.
Who knows, perhaps Josh already knew Nick wanted it.

Pre-season training: Thursday Feb 9th.

Ruscoe and Murley were back to training, there was a "Welcome back Trey, Welcome back Cooper" by the coaches in appreciation. Basically a full squad.

A couple rehabbers on the bikes
Kreuger
Dean (he clearly has done something apart from his thumb)

Moore did everything that I could see
Macrae did a lot, but was held back from some drills, then did some running toward the back end of the session

Darcy Cameron did drills, then did some running, then later did some ruck work. Didn't look too far off.

A pretty casual session this morning, mainly was a few drills, then some grid work that was more about transition from D50 to F50. Taking territory day.
Oscar partook in a few drills, then was made to sit out some of them, de-loading he told me. I guess he doesn't need to prove anything now, they can treat him like any draftee kid, ease him into his loads.

Both Moore and Murphy were very vocal in drills, directing players and amping the boys up.

A friend of mine was getting some signatures, and Oscar signed with #44, so guess that's the number he'll be taking.
Sorry Madge, it wasnt retired lol

Pendles is fine after his corky, participated in the whole session, so there are no questions there.

I can't help but notice a difference in attitude and enthusiasm in draftees and recruits lately.

Is it superior selection identification?

Is it the prospect of joining a newly vibrant and surprisingly successful club?

Is it the coaching ethos?

Perhaps a bit of all three.

Whatever the reason I no longer feel I must wait in hope.

Our time is at hand - we can grow from here.

Thanks again for all your efforts Jen2310 - reckon the club should supply you with your own official training kit (with Jen2310) across the back.

Dean - groan - will he ever be injury free? Depressing

Feels like everything about the club is positivity. Even as a fan and not on the inside of the club. It's peaceful, it's happy, it's positive. Even looking at the posts lately, I haven't seen most of us this positive and hopeful in a long while.

The club top-to-bottom seems solid in the way everything is being run and the general attitude.

In a developing team they chose to play a 27yo Sam Day instead of him, one of the most injury prone and average players in the AFL.

Extremely short sighted as not only was Wright a 23yo KPF coming into his prime, he actually wanted to be there! They can't complain about people wanting to leave, when they get rid of the talented ones that want to stay.

Giving him away for a fourth rounder was possibly the worst decision they've made as a club so far.
As bad as us giving them a future captain and dominant ruckman for a 4th rounder…. Nope

You just saved me a wasted trip there tomorrow! Any reason for the tweak… get ready for sat games maybe.

Thanks btw

I was chatting to Mitch Cleary this morning and he mentioned that clubs are starting to go into game mode, so couple sessions during the week then one on the weekend like preparing for a game. Makes me think it might be a match sim on Saturday.
After this weekend we basically are in game mode with the intraclub next Friday then the Carlton game then hawks in Tassie
