At what point of this repeat cycle of shoulder injuries do the Pies say thanks Krugs but here is your severance pay. What a pity though.
He’s had two reco’s right? One on each. You start worrying after the third…

Growing pains, we’ve seen it with many tall players…this break might be what he needs for his body to settle and get back to football. Have some faith.

They’re aiming for a return 6 weeks in to the season Dave, they’re not going to be able to take an extra rookie for that.
Agree they wont put him on long term injuy list and rookie someone if things go to plan. Still i think the miss 1st 6 weeks is probably too optimistic. He made a quicker than expected return last time getting back to the VFL 4 months after surgery. If he can repeat that this time means he would be VFL ready after 9 rounds of the season and maybe ready to be considered for senior selection 2nd half of the season. Thats if he recovers quickly.

Max King did hid about 6 weeks before Kreuger and saints are hoping he is back after 6 rounds as another comparison.

Kreugs having shocking luck and now McStay has the spot that was earmarked for Kreuger in 2022 he doesnt have an easy path into the 22. 2 suspect shoulders i would assume put him out of back up ruck consideration. Can he go back now. May be safer for him and he could go past Dean and Frampton pretty quickly.

Agreed there’s no chance he’s back on the park by Rd 6. He’ll be lucky if he’s back in the mix for senior selection by QB.

I’m normally not to buy into the BF hyperbole around injuries, but this is a bad one. Unstable shoulders in that role and attacking the ball as Kreuger does is not a recipe for success. At least it wasn’t as big a blow to the club overall as Gibcus’ hamstring or King’s shoulder.

The disappointing thing is that if Kreuger had have had surgery pre christmas when he injured it, he'd be 4 weeks ahead of the schedule already
Yeah, when there was talk he had soreness, and people talked he had done his shoulder. They should have done it then.

Maybe they thought— like de goey, rest would help but when it didn’t there was no other choice

Agree, seems to me that the injury management philosophy is to only operate when it's the only, or clearly the best option - I'd do that personally and can't see anything wrong with that other than you only see the injuries that have a delayed response to surgery (those that do repair naturally may not be reported or are overcome really quickly). Go Pies

Surgery's typically a last resort.

The other element is that shoulder surgery isn't emergency surgery, which is what hospitals would have prioritised over the holiday period. He may not have been able to get surgery scheduled during that time.

Is the verbosity intended to be a meme?
The disrespect in this comment for the selfless reporters who give us so much without reward is breathtaking. Appreciate the talent of Annabelle, who goes to some trouble to give us a report that is not the same old bland "training the house down" pap. She gives us something different to Jen's video oriented reports, and I for one greatly appreciate the effort that goes into both.

Lmao, my guy I didn't disrespect the report at all. I just pointed out that it's very flowery language, and I wasn't the only one to do so.

Hey Jen , does the club not publish training times ? I was planning on taking the young fella today but makes it difficult if we don’t know their training schedule ..,

They don’t. Usually it’s 9:15 but given last nights events has thrown whether that’s true for today.

Are the boys not allowed to go out on a ‘school night’? Lord knows I’ve rocked up to work after some very questionable night-out finish times 🤣

Genuine question, I’m not trying to be a smart ass! Lol.

Not recently I might add. But I do recall in my uni days going straight from a NYE party to a shift at Super Cheap Auto. Which was SO fun, 20% off everything that day so the place was heaving. I was an absolute joy at the registers.

In coffee-related news, I can confirm that BOTH Daicos boys now visit the bakery and have loyalty cards. Speaks volumes about their character. Mind you, the young lady serving (who is a massive Pies fan and thrilled that they are now locals) agreed that Almond Lattes were a poor choice and simply backs up the theory that you should never meet your heroes.

Carry on, as you were.

Maybe the surgeon wasn't available. Was Xmas after all. It may have been operated on at the first available opportunity.
You'd think being an AFL club, they'd be able to find a surgeon. Or fly him to Europe to get treated by a German doctor who's worked with most elite athletes.
