Is he still likely to head to Norwich?
I'd say so. Has a bit of talent and a lot of mongrel so he is suited to lower half prem teams and he needs to play games. Norwich are heavily into James Garner as well. Not sure what their loan situ is like though and whether they could take both.

Yeah, squad players are bought all the time. Some teams buy/recruit squad players for their youth teams as well.

My god, don't get sucked in by his idiocy mate. We're discussing the 30m transfer of a goalkeeper, of course he's not being brought in to twiddle his thumbs and carry the kit bag.

It's not a ****ing youth signing or a 30 year old back up (who would still be being brought in with the intention that he could play if needed).

I don't rate Ramsdale so the transfer for the mooted fee would amuse me. A couple of much better English keepers in front of him for England too. Until it happens I won't believe it. Arsenal are such a mess atm that I can't get a read on what they are trying to do. They also like spending money on mediocre players.

I rate him higher than some on here (which is how this whole thing started) but I agree that 30m isn't worth it for Arsenal. For Jod to do a 'haha wow didn't think he was being bought to eventually be first team keeper' is just ****ing dumb though.

The gooners are in a really tough spot. Clubs selling players expect them to have big money so demand high fees. They can't attract the best because they were mid table last season. Players coming in expect big money. So they end up paying overs for above average but not top 4 quality players and pay them high wages. Then they can't get rid of them a few years down the line because they are on the gravy train.

United had the same problem when were 6th for a few seasons. Schneiderlin being a key example.

My god you are actually entirely incapable of holding a conversation without becoming an insufferable campaigner. Teams buy young/fringe players all the time with the intention of bringing them into the first team. Are you seriously suggesting teams sign players with no intention of them playing in the first team? Whether they do or don't in the end is not what I'm saying.

SM did you see that United have bought in Hull City legend Paul McShane as a player/coach of the under 23's?

Yeah saw that the other week, think I mentioned in here but not sure. We played them a few days later and McShane and Hudd played against each other which as a City supporter is just bizarre to see again. Bernard in on loan from your boys looks promising too, was very good in the League Cup yesterday morning.

It's also been Everton's problem since they came in to money. Arsenal and Everton could learn a lot from how Leicester go about things.

I thought they were on the right path last summer going after Buendia and I suppose they're following that strategy with Ramsdale, but probably need to give up at this point for that sort of fee. Trying to bring in a good young core of players but better ways to do it.

Same with us. Just coming from a higher base.

Don't think we've signed anybody since 16/17 who is good enough to be a starter at a top 4 club. Maybe Hojberg.

We just buy shit players for high fees, not even good players. I mean seriously Iwobi for 35mill? Bolasie for 27? Sigurdsson for 45? We deserve the fat spanish waiter.

It's a good job fantasy football doesn't reflect real transfer fees just yet. £100 million for 15 players or for one...

Sounds like Mbappe is done at PSG.
Yeah agree, the tweets Fabrizio Romano has tweeted bout PSG President holding Mbappe hostage don't sound too good. Mbappe on a free what a world

Sign the best player in the world for the last 10 years only to lose the best player in the world for the next 10 years. Imagine how much they will lose commercially by not keeping Mbappe for the next 10 years.

Khelaifi also said publicly that Mbappe is "out of excuses" to sign a new contract now that Messi has arrived. They wont sell Mbappe this window likely because that will be linked to Messi's arrival.

If you’re Mbappe you’re not hanging around at PSG for 10+ years, I’m sure he wants a taste in La Liga or the EPL.

One would imagine so. He's had an offer of 750k / week on the table for quite some time, if that isn't enough to get him to commit at age 22 going on 23 nothing is.

Just for lols
