It's amazing how much we judge people from small scraps on social media. The irons gesture might have been a joke between 'friends'.
He started 3 PL games for Villa then some low minutes sub appearances. That's normal for a talented 20 year old. But he might have had his head turned when an agent got in his ear about tripling his salary and increasing game time. I suspect a transfer to the Hammers will suit all parties with a deal struck at around £35 million.
Incredible De Gea spent a whole season not playing.

Not quite sure why Ederson would even consider such a move being a keeper at 30 yo. Just coming into his best 2-3 seasons of his career.

He's on about €6 million, less tax, at City. He could probably get €30 million tax free in Saudi. He could hang on a couple of years before moving but he would miss out on €50 million, and there's no guarantee the Saudi Pro League will keep paying these astronomical wages.

It's Saudi. The amount of players leaving even on astronomical wages is telling. He's 30, not 35+.
Even if MBS gets bored and pulls the pin on funding the Saudi league there will always be somewhere in the world paying astronomical wages to older players from Europe.

It seems to suit some players and not others. Or that some are prepared to put up with crowds in the hundreds, the stupid heat and the restrictive social conditions - in return for astronomical wages for a few years.

Anyone know much about this Jake O’Brien that we are signing from Lyon?
All I know is that he was signed by Crystal Palace but never played for them, a couple of loans and then went to Lyon, where he was a regular for them.
Is he any good? Looks like he’s going to be our Godfrey replacement/Keane upgrade.
