If Boak's aroused this much genuine interest then his manager is likely to be asking for a bit of coin, potentially playing one club against the other. I'm sure our club will be mindful of this, as is Geelong who have made it clear they wont be paying overs.

Full credit to Port, as shit house as they've been the last few years they've done a great job in keeping their young stars at the club. Trengove, Butcher and Boak all attracted a lot of interest so Port must be doing something right.
Another "if he can't come to an agreement with his club, we're interested" from the Blues. Same story with Cloke.
McKay quotes we're after a power forward and inside mid, yet we're only interested in blokes who can't agree to terms with their respective clubs? Ummm, good luck recruiting anyone with that attitude.
Get some mongrel back into you CFC, our aggressive recruiting in years past was one of the key factors in our successful eras.

Most of this is just circus. Managers whore their players for a better commission. But 9 times out of 10 the player is happy at their work environment and count their current team-mates as best friends.
Do we really want mercenaries that are happy in their environments and will only come across for a 30% pay increase?

Hard to understand why anyone would nominate Norfs as a preferred Club OR Carlton really - 17 years is a long time between drinks. Why would Boak want to join a team that Port beat by 10 goals ?

I think we should be having a look at him to be honest, seems to be surplus to the Crows requirements he's got heaps of talent and a Melborne Boy, would slip in well to our forward line......

Based on the fact that our ladder position is going to be lower than expected, we are probably better served drafting a player in the 8-10 range with our 1st pick, rather than giving away another pick, Boak would be a very good player, but we are probably better off looking for players that are starved of opportunities eg Stevens/Mckernan, not convinced Boak would be the difference taking Blues to top 4, personally think Caddy may have more upside.
Caddy's no longer a realistic chance is he?
