Actually you said 'Howe will retire'. Please don't tell me to pull my head in. I have as much right as anyone else to comment.End of the year. I never said ‘now’, that was your inclusion. Let’s see if I’m right. Until then, pull your head in.
I was happy with his game, thought he showed a bit particularly in the 2nd half.
He contested well because the ball bounced at right angles straight into his arms, then he tapped it to space and Will Kelly ran across and made it a 2v1.
The thing I loved about Trey's game was the lack of the attempt at the miracle handball or kick - too often he's favoured the difficult disposal over the simple and it's come undone - I was waiting for it on Tuesday and it didn't come - he kept it simple and he was really impressive - he's got such good hand and foot skills that he really doesn't need to try to do anything special. Yesterday he stuck with the KISS principle and he pulled it off really well. I hope there's a spot in the side for him this week as he has some very good skills.
You can only deal with what is presented. And he did. Your looking for things that aren’t there. And when they do happen. It’s a validation. Let it go. The kid played well.

Everyone will eventually retire. It should have been clear enough that I meant at the end of the year. The word in question is ‘now’. A word I never used, despite you claiming I did, which would imply immediately.Actually you said 'Howe will retire'. Please don't tell me to pull my head in. Couldn't agree more - I really liked Trey's game, not so much because of what he did, but the things he didn't do - I wrote in an other thread that I was anticipating one of his brain farts all day - and the most pleasing thing is that it didn't come - he can do all the simple things really well and he stuck to it on Tuesday. Sure he could have attempted the mark rather than the punch at times, and he struggles to spoil in contested marking against taller opponents - confidence and game time will help there - he's a keeper. No he didn’t. He contested well, pushed the ball into open space and saw Kelly was there for the out number and then went across the Essendon player and engaged him to shepherd for Kelly. Who then took the ball and cleared long.
It’s simple and you made it difficult. If you don’t like Trey. That’s fine. Hey I have those types. But I choose my targets. Trey is just a kid and growing his game. He may taken longer to cook than most players. But if persisted with. Has some very high end AFL qualities. Size, Speed and quality of disposal. Most bit players have maybe one or two of those. He has all three. If he could just remove the brain farts and his lack of urgency. We’d have a serious player here.

Velociraptors we’re half the size and had feathers.I cannot get over Trey's way of running. When not actually attacking the ball he holds both hands in the manner of a Velociraptor, like claws ready to pounce. I've never seen anything so unusual in a high level professional athlete/footballer. I can't find an image of Trey in his resting pose-they are all action pics. Has anyone else noticed they way he holds his hands when jogging or moving around the ground?
Gonna walk away from his contractHowe will retire. He’s 32 and injury prone.
Gonna walk away from his contract

Will hang up the boots at the end of the year. Murphy ahead of him and possibly even Ruscoe and Kelly. Plays very loosely at times and can kick errantly.Gonna walk away from his contract

Me too, but I think Father Time has caught up. Pendles on the other hand is seemingly timeless. It wouldn't surprise me. Hope we are wrong
Lmao, the idea of Ruscoe and Kelly being ahead of him is utter nonsense, particularly Kelly who is a borderline delist candidate. Will hang up the boots at the end of the year. Murphy ahead of him and possibly even Ruscoe and Kelly. Plays very loosely at times and can kick errantly.
To be fair to him, he has given Collingwood wonderful service over the years, playing on opponents much bigger and stronger.
He has had countless injuries. Soft tissue or otherwise. Lee Walker never had a soft tissue injury, but was the absolute definition of injury prone.Lmao, the idea of Ruscoe and Kelly being ahead of him is utter nonsense, particularly Kelly who is a borderline delist candidate.
As for the injury prone line, he hasn’t had a soft tissue injury since his hamstring surgery in 2021. A broken arm does not make him injury prone. More nonsense.
The only reason Howe would retire at the end of the year is if he has significant enough nerve/ligament damage in his arm that it affects his football. Otherwise expect him to be playing in 2024.
He is 6 months older than Sidebottom and has played seventy five fewer games. I’d say that makes him injury prone.Lmao, the idea of Ruscoe and Kelly being ahead of him is utter nonsense, particularly Kelly who is a borderline delist candidate.

Open your eyes.
He's had virtually no minor injuries, but 3 serious injuries - a knee, was it a corkie that went shit in 2021 and now this broken arm, in his 220 AFL games - once every 70 games. 4th in the BnF last year. Admittedly his big injuries have happened in 3 of the last 4 years. His demise seems a complete guess to me.He is 6 months older than Sidebottom and has played seventy five fewer games.
