Very frustrating player to watch. I don’t think he’s got another 82 senior games in him. Hope he proves me wrong, certainly has some senior traits, I just doubt it’ll be at Collingwood.

If we could trade him to West Coast or anyone really, it'd be a win-win.

We aren’t getting pick 35-40 for a player who aren’t offering a contract mate
I reckon his value should sit in a similar place to what we paid for Frampton last year - a future third/fourth that a club is probably unlikely to use, or would view Ruscoe as being a better prospect to what they would've got at that point in the draft anyway. It's quite a similar case to Frampton imo, a player that has played good football in the VFL, and shown glimpses at AFL level without ever really establishing himself in the side.
A bit of shame as I like the Trey - and will fondly remember his first few games, coming in and kicking some goals and providing some great energy in the side. Wish him the very best wherever he ends up landing.
Yeah. Physically, hegood attributes with size and some speed. Kicking is fine for VFL. However, he's always seemed to be under pressure when playing in the seniors, which has lead to errors and poor disposal. Looks like he doesn't make decisions quick enough.

He fits a fairly small role. Defend medium forwards who aren’t super quick.
He’s not tall enough to be a key defender, not quick enough to play on smalls and not a run and carry defender.
Could maybe play wing but he isn’t going to get a game ahead of the guys we already have playing that role.

We probably would like to, but I imagine he'll be looking for more opportunity if possible. He's currently stuck behind Murphy/Howe, though grabted, Howe doesn't have too much longer left.

I don't see Ruscoe as a tall defender. If he is to make it as anything in defence, it would be as a defender of medium/smaller players. He gets out-marked too often by taller opponents. So I don't see him competing with Howe and Murphy.
Unfortunately, he's also too slow for most small/med forwards.
Just don't see where his skillset fits in the AFL.

Agreed. Although haven't seen his Mum.
Given he is taller than Murphy, that's the role he should have targeted. As you point out, his skill and compete levels in the marking contest aren't good enough, often enough.
