Excellent effort posting your top 100!!!
I hope Muse beats silverchair!
Let's hope the real JJJ listners get behind it instead of letting the teenie vote get the chair through.

I hope to all hell Pogo is in as well!!!
One of the best dance tracks of the year hands down!!!

I don't really see the Chair as a teenie vote. Straight lines is the only true commercial song on the album. Even if you keep losing sleep is a little out there for a commercial radio single.

The album is very creative and I don't think its fair to lump it amongst the teenie music.

This year was a lot harder than I thought it would be - but eventually narrowed it down although I wasn't too happy with my overall selection; to many flip of the coin type choices

Muse - Knights of Cydonia
Justice - D.A.N.C.E
Cut Copy - Hearts On Fire
Daft Punk - Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger (live)
Feist - My Moon My Man
Fratellis - Chelsea Dagger
Interpol - Pioneer To The Falls
Kings Of Leon - On Call
Kasabian - Shoot the Runner
Regina Spektor - Real Love

I agree whole heartedly with you. Its a great album and i enjoyed it even though it has been widley critisicised.

I think its a great song but i couldnt squeeze it into my votes as i found so much better music released this year. I think to the uneducated and irregular triple j listeners that seem to vote anyway (teenie vote) it is a shoe in for there votes. The fact that it got so much commercial exposure will cause many 'teenie voters' to push it highly where as you ask them who 'cut copy' or 'the wombats' are they would have little idea. Thats the only reason i categorised it in that way.

Fair enough. That makes sense.
For the record I left it out but I did vote for If you keep losing sleep.

Straight Lines will probably win- there is always a big mainstream presence in the voting plus they will still get more votes than most other bands from the regular Triple J listeners.

For what its worth, here are my votes

Billy Talent - Fallen Leaves
Jay-Z - Roc Boys (& The Winner Is)
Dizzee Rascal (Feat. Lily Allen) - Wanna Be
Kanye West - Everything I Am
Kanye West - Homecoming
Lupe Fiasco (Feat. Matthew Santos) - Superstar
Nine Inch Nails - Capital G
Dan Le Sac Vs Scroobius Pip - Thou Shalt Always Kill
Zeph & Azeem - Play The Drum
Red Sun Band - Like An Arrow

I didn't realise Knights of Cydonia would be eligible- I would've voted for it.

Most years there are are a few artists who poll 4+ songs, I expect these to be Arcade fire and Kanye. The former as they have a huge triple j j following, the latter because he has both a big triple j folowing and mainstream, plus triple j play basically 3/4 of his album on the radio so people know a lot of his songs

well my voting style is
1. Got to f and check for frenzal, none of that this year.
2. Look through entire list.
3. Dont vote for radiohead, they are aweful, dont vote for silverchair, theyve become aweful. Dont vote for anything boring like JBT or Jose Gonzales. Vote for the living end.
My top 10 has ended up beig.

Against Me! - Stop!
Against Me! - White People For Peace
Bad Religion - Heroes & Martyrs
Common (Feat. Lily Allen) - Drivin Me Wild - not usually my cup of tea at all but like this song, one of about 3 hip hop songs i like
Dropkick Murphys - The State Of Massachussets - best song of the year
Horsell Common - Good From Afar
Living End, The - Rising Sun
Rise Against - The Good Left Undone
Strung Out - Calling
Wombats, The - Let's Dance To Joy Division

of those the songs i really like are the living end one, strung out, and dropkick murpys and bad religion are two fo my favourites.

May the best song win, as long as it isnt radiohead

Whats wrong with Pink Floyd? It is a great song, plain and simple, but there is a bit of a love affair with Muse on the Js, they play them all the time, although Cydonia hasn't been on high rotation lately

nothing wrong with floyd, greatest band ever imo. just sounds alot like soycd but no where near as epic. i just cant stand muse and the associated 'genius' guitar work in their songs

Well, voting is now closed.

I'd like to see anything but Straight Lines win. I really don't want to hear Songs About Ping Pong. I can't ****ing stand that Let's Dance To Joy Division song....it just shits on a great band. Them winning or even getting a decent showing just completely goes against the nature of the countdown, which had Love Will Tear Us Apart win for the first few years until it became specific of the year it was counting down.

Anyway:

10) "Hearts On Fire" - Cut Copy
9) "Tenderoni" - Chromeo
8) "Wanna Be" - Dizzee Rascal feat. Lily Allen
7) "Cherry Cola" - Eagles Of Death Metal
6) "Creeping Up The Backstairs" - The Fratellis
5) "Stronger" - Kanye West
4) "Conquest" - The White Stripes
3) "Tie Up My Hands" - British India
2) "Rehab" - Amy Winehouse
1) "Thou Shalt Always Kill" - Dan Le Sac vs. Scroobius Pip
