At the middle-top end of the market there most certainly is..e.g.

Thanks, pretty sure that like the others I’ve looked into is overseas testing and when you try to match up the tyres to what’s for sale locally there’s not much overlap, and certainly not enough to compare between the choices you have.

I’ve also had very conflicting information to those sites. They’ll largely have Michelin / Pirelli at the top of their testing, but speak to any Australian tyre place and they’re the last tyre they recommend, often telling you not to purchase them.

Unless one is going cross country or entering Le'Mans, a tyre is a tyre.
I do drive cross country, regularly enough for it to matter. I’ve also had the limits of my tyres / car tested on those trips.

For a lot of people, just cruising around suburbs with the occasional freeway is all they do and modern technology of cars and tyres exceeds their needs. Any decent tyre probably suits them.

I have absolutely zero problem with paying more money for more quality, considering my needs, if any single expert could explain what an extra $100 a tyre actually gets you…

So it turns out when some Collingwood flog on the main board comes up with a PB mock-up guernsey where the stripes are replaced with black dicks, "we can't spare any black dicks, they're all too busy plowing your mother" is not considered by the moderators of this fair website to be an appropriate response.
For the years ive seen you post thats a little of character.
But I love it!! :tearsofjoy:

You buy the cheap ones and hope they last. They're like shoes for cars.

shoes, like tyres, are your first point of contact with the ground and have a tremendous impact on how your body/car performs! never cheap out on either!!

I remember my mates working at the Life Savers factory , they made Smalls chocolates , Wagon Wheels, Big Charlie’s among other things as twoof many teenage staff they delighted in spitting into the mixture . Maybe it is best to make your own everything lol

What about a nanny that looks like Ana de armas?
Do you know many nannies that looks like Anna De Armas?

Anyway, don't think that would help me sleep either. That is something that would... Keep me up. It could make things... Harder.

I hate to tell you but that doesn't mean they're going to last anywhere near as long as a quality tyre

I once had a decent sized roo appear out of some roadside bushes , eyeball me as I approached, then try to superman through my windscreen (while I was doing 110 on a highway)

Tested the capabilities of my car, brakes, tyres , and my ****ing heart as that just about stopped.

Yeah my fella done that all inclusive. I may get him back soon.

Lol s**t I've been converted haven't I? Before you know it I'll even be paying someone to wash the HQ.

Or I just wait til the old man has a week off.

I usually have to force myself to do the yard maintenance every 2 - 3 weeks, I admire the end result but dislike the process, but for some reason I find washing and even vacuuming the interior of an older car therapeutic, and I still get a lot of satisfaction in driving a 50 plus yo old daily driver with everything working correctly.

They are not for everybody, particularly those who either don't know what to do, or aren't interested in popping the bonnet at least once per week, or do any general maintenance themselves, but I wouldn't be interested in doing any of that stuff on any modern shopping trolley, so each to their own as the old saying goes.

General maintenance? I've got 253. The only maintenance required is to check it's not on fire, and if it is, don't stress, it might sort itself out if you just leave it be.

But washing cars is a waste of time in this town.
