Melbourne's great man. Yall just salty!
Nothing wrong with it, it's just not a 'Worldy'. It is a perfectly adequate bland large city. It's Cleveland to Sydney's New York.

Lol nah im ubering it everywhere, only about 5min from the office.

Their streets are so narrow, the people have no idea how to use street crossings and the food has mostly sucked.

Its a bit of a messy CBD. Not sure how it is further out but not a fan of these tiny little town house things etc. Packed together sold as some sort of "heritage" thing.

Been 20 years since ive been here and I probably wont rush back. Good thing most of my business trips are to the GC which is like having a holiday every few weeks, starting to run out of things to tick off the list there though.

There’s tonnes of great food etc just have to know where to go.

Get out of the cbd to be honest if you have the time.

Sydney is more of a Cleveland steamer type city
No doubt, most big cities are unless you're loaded, but it still shits on Melbourne in world terms. Which is the discussion.

Just watched the two seasons of Ted Lasso in two days. I'm not even sure why it's so good. The humour is sometimes a bit kitschy, the storyline is kind of here and there... I have to say the character development is very good, and I don't think it takes itself too seriously... Just a very easy to watch, feel-good kind of show. Infectious I guess is the right word for it.

It's nice. Plus it has Hannah Waddingham.

I moved to Sydney from Adelaide around 2 years ago and barring missing fam and friends I’m really enjoying it.

Have next to no issues with traffic. I don’t need to drive most places unless i want to, and if I do most things are still 5 mins drive away or can get places quick on a freeway.

Also cause I’m not an idiot I don’t try to drive anywhere where it’s going to be bad.

Not quite. Poppy’s original comment was that Sydney is the only “proper city” in Australia and that Melbourne is “rather provincial”, which is clearly just a dumb thing to say.

Melbourne's entire schtick is to mythologise the uber-mundane while maintaining a cultural superiority complex towards the rest of the country. (I say this as someone who actually likes Melbourne and has plenty of Victorian friends)

Sydney just is what it is.

Wouldn't want to live in any bustling metropolis tbh. The older I get, the less I want to deal with traffic, crowds and people in general.
Visiting is fine if you want to get it out of your system, but big buildings and restaurants are the same everywhere.

Just changing tack for a moment....

Remember Stephen Quartermain's outburst to JCvD after he cracked onto his wife... "this is MY town!"

So Melbourne it hurts.
