Have you hit traffic?
Lol nah im ubering it everywhere, only about 5min from the office.

Their streets are so narrow, the people have no idea how to use street crossings and the food has mostly sucked.

Its a bit of a messy CBD. Not sure how it is further out but not a fan of these tiny little town house things etc. Packed together sold as some sort of "heritage" thing.

Been 20 years since ive been here and I probably wont rush back. Good thing most of my business trips are to the GC which is like having a holiday every few weeks, starting to run out of things to tick off the list there though.

My grandparents house had a copy of Two Moon Junction on Beta. 12 yo me was pretty happy I gave it a play.

The only thing Sydney really has is a large population, world recognised landmarks and a lot of coastal/harbour side living. It's an incredibly over rated city, hard to navigate, with terrible traffic and a suburban lifestyle that can't compare with Adelaide's. Melbourne has a real point of difference as the sporting capital. F1, AO, MCG, Melb Cup, etc.

I'd live in Melbourne, Brisbane (outside of a flood zone) and possibly Perth (but it is very remote which is a big turnoff), but never Sydney.

Darwin is magic in winter, but only winter.

Sydney is Australia's only proper city. Everything else is rather provincial. Which is fine lifestyle wise, but Sydney is definitely the Hot Girl. Malbun tries, but it doesn't really cut it.

Were you bullied by Victorians as a kid? Melbourne is bigger than every European city apart from London and every US city apart from New York.

Watchmeforever/nothingforever, an always-on TV show written live by ChatGPT, just had its first * up. lol.

Think it was running for a month non-stop before this.

Alright, who let Papa G take over the programming?

No it isn't. If you think Melbourne is bigger than the metropolitan areas (how Melbourne's population is calculated), than Moscow, Paris, St Petersburg, Madrid, Milan and about a dozen US cities I have some hats to sell you.

Good point which I missed during my quick google but European cities especially are so heavily centralised that even including wider metro areas still doesn’t make most of them bigger than Melbourne. Milan is still smaller. I honestly skipped Russia as Europe because they’re fringe like Turkey but the fact you had to go to that well twice tells you something.

Regardless Melbourne is almost the same size of Sydney right now and it will be bigger in the very near future. It’s just weird to not consider it one of the world’s big cities. Show me on the doll where Eddie touched you.

Melbourne is a shitty southern Leeds.

Sydney feels like a ‘World City’.
