I too am no great fan of the shorter forms of the game, but the major issue I see with a yank team of mainly Indian born part timers beating one of the major nations is that there will be a percentage of septics who have never picked up a cricket bat in their lives who will all of a sudden form the opinion their f***** up country matters in world cricket.

The inbred arrogance of way too many septics who know SFA about anything is always bubbling away below the surface, and the best thing that can probably happen now is one of the other major cricketing nations (yes even the poms) smacks some reality back into the USA by bowling `their' team out for a very low score and then proceeds to knock off the deficit in a few overs.

Carn' it's smart by the ICC to get the USA interested in cricket they have a giant population with tons of people originally from cricket nations. Cricket was popular in colonial america they would quite likely be a cricket nation if Baseball hadn't boomed after the civil war there's a lot of interesting cricket history there.

My wife was going through my late father-in-law's things yesterday and found this photo of him (back row, second from right, and his brother is holding the ball) in the Largs Bay Orphanage footy team in 1940 - not sure of colours, but prison bars represent!

David Koch is that old??

Here is the wound on the saved kittys leg, just got a good look at it as he had his bandage changed. Its a doozy! Not for those who are a bit squeamish.

So an older fella from footy noticed my limp on the weekend and I told him about my ankle. He's a shit stirrer but he assured me he was being absolutely serious when he said they the best stuff I can get for that is period pain medication. I told him a hundred times nah I don't think so, but he was absolutely committed about being genuine telling me this.

Has anyone else ever heard or tried it?

If he’s talking about naproxen which is an anti inflammatory that lots of women take which works better than ibuprofen then it may help.

I used to take it before games for my shoulders. Worked better than ibuprofen, but it’s no miracle cure, just a little better for inflammation pain which your ankle will likely have.

Of all the niche topics Jimmy brings up, an interest and knowledge of cricket history in the USA might top the list
