Webster will be asked to play tall at times. Hammer will be given a chance in the backline, but if he is getting towelled up Ross might go back to trialling Sharman down there as the third tall.

Cordy will play IMO.

Haha, I wanna know why? JONES is so 'on the nose' with most people here. Was our best player last round 2024. When fit, he provides a point of difference to our midfield with his grunt work & burst speed. And looks like he's having an uninterrupted pre-season, which bodes well.

Jones reportedly had calf issues last session.

Or this one

B. Sch'maker Cordy Webster

H.B. NWM Wilkie Stocker

C. Wood Macrae Hill

H.F. Wilson Sharman Butler

F. Owens King Higgins

Foll. Marshall Steele Windhager

I/C. Caminiti, Clark, Jones, Byrnes, Hall-sub

New- Macrae, Hall

If Sinclair is declared fit, Hall misses out, Byrnes then becomes the sub.

If Clark is deemed not to be fit enough? then Hall replaces him.

Travaglia is a possibility of debuting by swapping with either Byrnes, Clark or Hall.

I'm hoping that we don't rush Sinclair, Marshall and Wood back for round one - an interstate trip followed by a six day break sounds like a recipe for underdone old blokes to reinjure themselves. With that said, Lyon seems to push players to the physical limit and clearly doesn't believe in resting players so it wouldn't surprise me to see them all play.

Dow is definately out injured for a while, don't mind Caminiti & Keeler as the key backs.

Sinclair the most doubtful for round 1 of those 3, by most reports.

Not overly inspiring, there's a few in this side we need to replace before contending

I like your inside mids, possibly means though that the wings need to be quicker.
Wilson & Henry, would be my ideal, with a mix of inside/out when Henry gets back of coarse.
Jones & Windhager rotating through the inside would quicken it up also.

Hypothetically let's say those not playing this weekend aren't available for round 1.

Notable absentees: Max King, Rowan Marshall, Jack Sinclair, Mason Wood, Mattaes Phillipou, Liam Henry, Hunter Clark, Dougal Howard, Zak Jones, Lance Collard, Arie Schoenmaker, Alix Tauru

Potential round 1

It's looking likely that we may try play small ball in the backline, with only the 2 "key backs" then maybe Webster and hastie using there bounce to take the 3rd tall. Will take a team effort, but at this point, except maybe keeler, we don't really have another viable option as they played caminiti forward today. Really like hastie and think we need to persist with him. If Marshall is banged up, I think it is the perfect opportunity to play Boyd early with Rowan forward and see if it works. This would mean caminiti is surplus, and won't be playing forward. Oconell could be a really good sub option, or even windhager who is now borderline. Boxshall has to start over an underdone Clark/jones at this point. Thoughts?

Caminiti has apparently? started training in the backline recently. Think he moves there gameday, when King returns to his throne for Round 1?
Boxshall looked very comfortable against the big boys today, has? to play round 1 & considering Clark & Jones would bee 50/50 to play.

Agree with this. If Wood's back we may just play a spare behind the ball and he can be that extra man over the top. Will need to make the Crows play slowly though.

Midfield mix will be really interesting.

Steele/Boxshall vs. Dawson
Macrae vs. Crouch
Garcia/Windhager vs. Rankine/Soligo

Tough defensive midfield group we've got.

After yesterday and the likelihood that Owens and Sharman will miss Round 1
