Yep I agree but is is so hypocritical.A couple of years back there was an AFL development squad training near the spportsclub/TAB I was in at the time. These 16/17 kids all dressed in the AFL gear entered the venue and lined up at the electronic betting machines.I thought at the time that it does not seem right and surely the AFL would black ban the gambling as part of the development of these kids
They’d be underage

I guess playing the chocolate machine with the claw is technically gambling

I don’t see people of wealth buying scratchies or playing the pokies. They tend to be too smart to just give money away.

This is backed up by the AIFS - ‘ Gamblers in the lowest income quintile households spent a much greater proportion of their disposable household incomes on gambling compared to those in the highest income households - 10.4% vs 1.3%.

The reality is that the gambling industry has been very effective in marketing its products, particularly to our youth where there has been a marked increase in risky gambling behaviour.

That stat is suggestive of the opposite of your claim. I would imagine 1% of the disposable income of the highest income households is greater than 10% of the lowest.

And that is rigged too - have to think why the fluffy gift falls of the claw - it's manufactured that way - algortihims.

You look in the arcades, and the video games are all beaten up and busted, while all of the gullability testers are in perfect order.
You wouldn’t want the weak-4ss claw to stick and accidentally hang onto that bunny, after all.

How does the gambling industry specifically target youth?

The majority of young people are quite poor, and if they bet only bet quite small amounts. The gambling industries get most of their profits from the big players who lose hundreds of thousands or millions, not kids betting $5 multis.

Incorrect

Its a numbers game

Would you prefer 2 rich dudes losing $200,000 per year or 10,000 kids losing $5 per week

So the offenders and also those not yet known are uneducated to the tune of 100, 000's?
Well he’s right... Pokies are legitimately programmed to take your money over time & there’s nothing you can do about that. There are however ways to gain advantages sports betting

Kids betting $5 Multi’s become bigger punters in time

They groom them from childhood, with those skill tester machines.
Like a one-armed bandit, but a toy instead of a payout.
Sets them up with the lights and noises they will will be conditioned to love, and disconnect them from the reluctance to lose all of their money in chasing the prize they just have to have.
Makes throwing away your money fun.

They were but who polices that on an EBT
If you worked there, you should have. At least report it to management.

Yes, but 10% of a low income is more problematic

Not that I'm an expert, but I also feel people making these smaller bets are probably punting on results less likely to pay out - high risk/high reward, which he betting agencies would love.

What a stupid argument.

I can make up numbers too

So the shopping centre that buy those machines are working with the gambling companies to brainwash children together.. This is quite a conspiracy
