I agree mate, not trying to be disrespectful to them. But being a fs doesn’t prevent fair criticism. Neither him or cal were up to afl, nothing wrong with that. Many f/s don’t even get drafted. It’s an achievement in itself

No probs. :thumbsu:

The club has a similar view else they'd be retained and they were both given fair opportunity. I'm sure neither would be complaining about their lot.

In saying that, given that we're effectively saying goodbye I thought it apt to acknowledge their attributes as fine Collingwood people.

True.

But their name is Brown, so in Collingwood that affords them consideration because the name has meaning.

Good humans from a good family who gave it all they had.

Wish them the best going forward.

Yes and that consideration was 5 and 6 seasons respectively in what should of been 3 max.

For people to feel they should be salty over it is laughable.

Good luck to them in their future careers but it's about time at Collingwood. Certainly offered more opportunities then Brayden Shaw was.

You're imagining things that anyone is salty about the Browns being delisted, and you're sounding saltier than anyone in my opinion.

You've gone into both the Callum & Tyler threads with the same position i.e. that they were lucky to get as long as they did (not sure that anyone disputes that anyone that gets to put on a jumper is lucky).

Even as a last post about them you're unable to keep the salt from rising to the surface.

Unbelievable.

No some were definitely salty, you also seem to be very salty over the fact I stated they were lucky that they got longer then they should too.

My posts were in response to people stating Tyler was unlucky. No he wasn't.

They both were delisted why wouldn't I go to both threads ? Lol unbelievable alright.

Cal Brown is as best 22 year 3 in a finals side and played the majority of games year 4 and 5. He wasn’t gifted his time on the list.

Tyler on the hand never got close to that and and should have been cut earlier but somehow was believed to have more potential because he’s taller.

Cal is debatable whether years 4 or 5 he should of retained a spot. Even I that year there were many questioning his spot.

I guess as far as depth and work rate clubman etc goes, I can see why you would argue it.

Anyway as I said good vfl players not quite up to the transition to AFL and wish them all the best in whatever they pursue.

It’s debatable I just think Cal benefited more by playing under a coach that valued average pressure forwards rather than his last name.

After the veracity of the details in a report into treatment of aboriginal players and their partners released today is determined, Clarko will be lucky to have a job.
Hallelujah, finally , basic fundamental skill of AFL Football, is the skill of kicking the Football effectively , neither of them could hit the side of a barn door from 20 metres away. Both gifted 3 years too many. Good luck to the both of them in their future endeavours, it definitely ain’t in AFL football

if clarko does ever make it back into coaching, I'd like to see what he can do with Tyler....

I have to admit that his credentials have been proven with the 4 premierships, but I still think that premierships are a lot to do with the club as well as the coach. If Clarko could inspire Tyler to become a consistent performer, it would be impressive. Some might argue that getting away from the Pies might give tyler some air, and I would agree with that, but it would take a masterful coaching performance to turn this career around...

So if a current non-coach re-enters coaching, you’d like to see him coach a current non-player…

It’s the offseason alright…

yeh that's about it...i'd like to see north put tyler on their list and clarko coach him...

but only with your approval. I dont want to upset anyone...

Big shame on this one, I think he’s about 20 games of experience and about 6-7kg off his best football. I still think time and continuity is all he needs. Hope he gets picked up elsewhere.

Yep, this. Disappointed to see him depart but it’s the nature of reduced list sizes. Hopefully he gets opportunity elsewhere.

According to the HSUN about to trial for the Crows - given Mcasey’s retirement

After being linked to Footscray VFL.. who are known for being open to recruiting their well performing VFL players… he’s now linked to the Crows

I’m not optimistic he makes it to 50 AFL games… but good luck to him, hoped he gets picked up 👍

We have just picked this guy up.

Never heard of him but does come from a good pedigree being Gavin's son.
Good size, moves well… had potential

Perhaps the crows have a view of turning him into a mid sized defender?

Otherwise can’t see him making it in the midfield long term… just doesn’t get near enough ball, and tends to handball backwards when he does

But good luck to the crows with the kid 👍

Shades of Ben Crocker
For every serviceable Seedsman there's a Crocker, Madgen and Brown to follow not far behind.

Not sure where he fits in the big scheme of things for us, would have thought we'd be after KPD's (no not Madgen he is safely tucked away in the SANFL, hopefully for the season) but happy to be proven wrong on him but I am not sure where he gets a game.
