Anyone rewatched some past fights recently?

I was hoping to find some time to rewatch Aldo's, McGregor's and a few others' past few fights. Only started tonight and after looking at the 3 cards I realised that there's heaps of fights I want to rewatch.
Killing two birds with one stone, re-watching the Aldo vs Mendes fights.

The 2nd fight is such a great fight. Mendes got the better of Aldo early in some rounds and even hurt him badly with an uppercut that would have finished a lot of fighters. Aldo still managed to win almost every round.

People talk about WEC Aldo like he was better back then or something. He wasn't. He was more entertaining I guess, but he's much better now. His boxing is the main thing that's far better now than it was back then.

Aldo can and does coast when fighters let him. Lamas didn't do anything to Aldo that had him worried, so he was content to win the required rounds. Mendes came at him with hard punches and Aldo responded with his own big shots. McGregor, like Mendes, will force Aldo to fire back. Can't wait!

The only fights on the main card im even remotely confident of my picks in are Holloway and Nelson (was stunned he isnt odds favourite after beating Thatch) and after reading this even that one im getting sketchy on. I think thats the biggest appeal of this card, so many really high level fights that you just cant seperate advantages, or if you can they are so minor it doesnt make you confident its enough to win the fight on its own. Oddly on this card most of my picks are based more on who i cant see losing than who i think will win (if that makes sense).

And after the fact we'll all say; 'I should of seen it going the way it did.'

First time buying a PPV, how do I do it?

I looked up the options and was a bit confused with how it works. I want to buy the PPV on my Ipad so I can connect it to the TV. Firstly, how does that work and secondly, does hooking my tablet up to the TV work? I bought an AFL pass on my Ipad and it didn't work as the AFL banned users from watching it by connecting the tablet via a HDMI cable.

Lastly, how do most people watch it when they buy the PPV?

Foxtel man. Just ordered straight through main event.

I would have no idea on how to stream stuff to your tv.

If you don't have Foxtel then sign up for an account on UFC.tv and order the PPV there for $60 instead of doing an in-app purchase on your iPad. You can then sign in to the UFC app with your UFC.tv credentials and still watch the PPV.

Only question i can answer is im about 99% sure it wont let you stream it to your tv.

I'm almost certain he'll be able to connect his iPad to his TV. Only Australian sports do goofy stuff like limit streaming to small screens.

What is the difference between ordering on UFC.TV and ordering in the app?

Just watched the Embedded vids. Aldo seems to spending all his time in the gym. McGreggor's working on his Pilates. I've always thought dancers were martial artists who made bad life choices, but Irish knows he's in a fight, right?

For the noob, on face value, what are the differences between the way Ronda and Connor conduct themselves?

Finally have time to give Fight Pass a good work out, anyone suggest 2-3 good bouts to watch as prep for this one?

It's worked well for him so far.

For Aldo/McGregor I'd watch both of their fights with Mendes along with Aldo vs Edgar and McGregor vs Siver. The Mendes fights give you an idea of how they went against a common opponent and their other fights were impressive displays against opponents who have similar, albeit nowhere near the same level strengths (Edgar's movement and Siver's kicking game).

Another thing about the Maia/Nelson fight that I hadn't mentioned is that Nelson fights at a slow pace. That's good for Maia because someone who pushes a quick pace will tire him out more and quicker.

I'm not that confident, but I think Maia wins. Probably wins the first two rounds and then gives up the last round. Could even win all 3 rounds.

I think that this has been posted but it's worth a look if you haven't read it yet. http://www.mmafighting.com/2015/12/9/9834878/the-kid-from-the-favela

I've been thinking about this fight card for so long, I'm so pumped that it's ridiculous! I'm not ashamed, however. I'm a fight nerd and the next 3 days will be great!

My thoughts on the main event.

Connor is a bad stylistic matchup for Aldo, but that isn't the end of it for Jose

Jose finds ways to win rounds and there isn't a place where Jose will be scared of Connor, but Connor can't say the same thing. There is so much talk that Aldo does't have the cardio, but he's gone 5 rounds with Mendes and Edgar and lived (and won, which isn't too bad) and he has only really looked terrible in the championship rounds a few times.

Jose Aldo Positives.

Aldo has leg kicks for days. 2 or 3 kicks on the lead led for Connor and things can change quickly.
Aldo's ground game is ridiculous. If the fight hits the mat then Connor won't be able to hold guard like he did with Mendes.
Connor could be taking his cardio for granted. Connor isn't stupid but Aldo's cardio issues are made out to be more than they are.
Connor believes that he is in Aldo's head. Read the link above and rematch his fights. I don't believe that he is.
The left hand of McGregor is dangerous, but Mendes hit him many times and he was able to walk through it.
McGregor doesn't want to be taken down. Aldo has fought tough wrestlers in the past and has been able to get past them. If he wants the fight on the mat, he should be able to take him down like Mendes did.

Connor McGregor Positives.

Connor is the first true southpaw that Aldo had face since Kenny Florian.
Connor has trained with Gunnar Nelson for this camp, who is a decent wizard on the mat, which would give him a lot of confidence.
Connor knows how to work with his advantages. He sets up his kicks and left hand so well.
Connor likes to dictate the fight and Jose can be slow to react, or as his camp says, take time to read the fight. If Mcgregor clips him early then he might get in Aldo's head.

Sorry for the verbal diarrhoea, I'm just talking to myself. Sorry that you all have to read my fangirl dribble :p

SO pumped for this. I still think Also winds, watched Conor v Poirer last night and Conor just took Dustins leg kicks, if he does that v Aldo he might not be able to walk by rd 2
I see Conor taking the leg kick but throwing the left hand down the pipe every time. he won't be able to take to many kicks but I expect aldo to not handle mcgregors power.
2nd rd tko mcgregor.
