Pretty awful PPV card but at least we get see everyone's favourite fighter/least favourite human being. Stipe looked completely past in the Ngannou rematch (full credit to Francis' performance though), and that was 3.5 years ago. Jones is taking him apart, likely quickly and easily. Of course, a Stipe knockout, with Paul Craig subbing Bo Nickal, would be the funniest thing ever.

The real question is what next for Jones if he wins? He's avoiding Aspinall like the plague, and is even now talking about dropping the title to face Poatan if that's what it comes to. I'd love to see both fights quite honestly, but the UFC should really be pushing for it to be Aspinall as he's their next superstar and their marketing of him has been absolutely disgraceful to this point.

I'd have watched the Nickal fight had it been 3rd. Not bothering with the crap wmma fight after it, will just tune in for the last 2 fights.

Charles stuck in a pointless rematch here. Hope he wins easy and quick turn around to fight in Sydney!

Bo is the 3rd fight. Trust me

I just really struggle to care about Jones beating up a retired firefighter when the Interim HW Champ is literally weighing in as the back up for this.

Jones is the goat, no question but i cant think of too many more unlikeable guys (combining the professional and personal) aspects of the business in my sports watching era.

Im probably boycotting this on the grounds of idiotic matchmaking

Stipe is getting disrespected pretty badly i this one imo

He hasn't fought since 2021 and hasn't won since 2020. This fight is absurd

I hope Stipe wins as a giant FU to the UFC & Jones. Dana was furious all those years ago when he beat Ngannou, this will be much funnier. Unlikely to happen but I understand why people would boycott this, it is ridiculous by any sporting standard

I respect stipe immensely but he’s basically retired and ranked 8th I think?

Meanwhile the ACTUAL interim champ and consensus number 1 contender is gonna be sitting cage side ready to fight.

If Aspi was injured or unavailable or whatever by all means bring in stipe, but on merit, this fight is ridiculous.

Olivera v Chandler is a banger and seeing Weidman and Miller on the undercard warms my old heart.

Aspinall would never have fought for the interim title if this fight didnt get postponed.

Tbf I mean Stipe is being disrespected as people are talking like he has no chance. i think he has a big, big chance. Will take away Jones' wrestling advantage he has had and can match his reach

So Aspi gets punished for stepping in when this fight was originally delayed?

Cant say i understand that logic.

Im not really commenting on whether Stipe has a chance or not (i think your overestimating his actual chances against the greatest and most innovative fighter of all time) but the fight just doesnt make any sense

Dana finally reading the room, saying Jones will have to fight Aspinall if he wants to fight again (assuming he wins).

Elite trolling from Jones all week, has the fans in an absolute stupor with his ducking Aspinall nonsense. Good tactics to make us forget he's fighting a retired 42 year old man.

How does it not make sense?

Greatest HW of all time v arguably the greatest of all time.

Had it gone ahead before the silly interim title there would be no issue

It will be interesting to see how Jones goes against a well rounded HW. His last few fights at LHW were less than convincing too

Anderson Silva is the greatest Middleweight of all time, should we roll him out? Why not bring back Randy Couture to fight Jon.

Stipe is the GOAT Heavyweight, hes also not fought since 21 and hasnt won since 2020, hes 42 and has been part time training for most of the last 4 years.

You call the interim title silly, which is fair enough, but its there, the UFC made it because this fight got delayed and now that the undisputed and interim champions are BOTH ready and available they make the fight with someone else. Two titles running concurrently is the sort of shit that made boxing largely a joke.

Im glad youre excited for it but youre doing some serious mental gymnastics to justify the validity of the opponent.

I'm looking forward to it tbh.

Like everybody else, I'm hoping for a Stipe win but I know it is less than 50/50.

The markets have him at about a 15% to 20% chance.

If we're talking about fighters ages and records, look at Chandler's.

He has won one fight in the past half decade, and that was against the ghost of Tony Ferguson.

Chandler is 38 which at lightweight is ancient, more so than 42 at heavyweight (Stipe).

It would be a beautiful thing to see Stipe, Craig and Tyson all win this weekend 😍

Wonder what that pays.

50/50 is being extremely hopeful!

Stipe looked shot against Francis 3 years ago, and after over a decade fighting at the top of the HW division, he has no right to be competitive with Jones now. All that being said, this is HW, and he did wobble Ngannou before rushing in and getting himself pummelled, so you couldn't really put it below 20%.

Add in that Jones has never been a big KO fighter so he’s probably not gonna put Stipe away, he’s gonna have the full 25 to find an opening.

I swear Dana has got rocks in his head sometimes. That women's fight on the ppv is just absurd. I've got nothing against women's fights, but this one on the ppv..ridiculous.
They're talking about a 105 women's division now I think. Just what the fans wanted...

Id far prefer a 165 (change it to 145, 55, 65, 75, 85, 205, 206+) than another women's div

Take that over a women’s HW division. :D:(

Hopefully we don’t have two big dollar flops in two days

Stipe up against it but, hey, this is why he is the goat heavyweight right

I get that they didn’t give Aspi to Jones, it’s dollars!

Same will happen when they lineup Perreira for Jones

Money talks!

Had a small investment on Paul Craig via sub, he’ll definitely be on his back and his sub game from there is elite, Nickal is a bit vulnerable to a sub still I think, paying 15 bucks
Pretty big if, imo, but if Craig does win, sub would be the only way. At $15 that's nice. It's basically $15 for the win. Pop a 10er on for us ;). No more betting on mma for us SA mere mortals.
