Close fight after that second round but I think Ulberg will either edge him on decision or KO him in the third. Let's see.Ulberg looked to find his range and Volkan's timing the second half of that round. Looks like he'll be too big, fast and accurate from here.
Pretty clear imo.Close fight after that second round but I think Ulberg will either edge him on decision or KO him in the third. Let's see.
One judge thought it was close and had it 29-28, while the other two had it 30-27. So yeah, conclusive for most judges in the end. I thought Oezdemir was working his way into it after the second round, but in the end Ulberg's striking was superior and Volkan couldn't get any takedowns when he needed them. Unfortunately, I don't think it was impressive enough to earn a title shot for Ulberg. I'd expect Ulberg to fight a top 5 opponent in his next fight and if he wins then he should be in line for a title shot. Revenge could be on the cards for City Kickboxing in 2025.Pretty clear imo.
Not a domination by any means, but Ulberg got the better of Oezdemir throughout. He's a good scalp, but agree not worthy of launching into a title shot. Rebook the Hill fight or if not, Jan might be ready in February, or possibly Krylov. One judge thought it was close and had it 29-28, while the other two had it 30-27. Would be awesome if Ulberg got a top 5 opponent on the Sydney card in February 2025.
Oh man. Ulberg v Hill on the Sydney card in February would be so good. I'd accept Blachowicz too, but I wouldn't be as confident about a win for Ulberg. It really just depends on how badly the UFC wants to give Ulberg a title shot and I get the feeling that they think he's very marketable. It's not often that you get an exciting fighter on a seven fight win streak who happens to also be a model. That's straight up $$$ for the UFC.Not a domination by any means, but Ulberg got the better of Oezdemir throughout. He's a good scalp, but agree not worthy of launching into a title shot. Yan is amazing. I honestly only thing he's ever lost against Sterling and Merab, which is insane. I thought he was robbed against O'MalleyOne of the better 50-45 fights you'll see. Figgy never looked a serious challenge for Yan, but he's one of the most game fighters I've ever seen and even when outclassed never looks completely out of it.
Their scrambles on the ground were some of the most entertaining grappling in a whileOne of the better 50-45 fights you'll see. Figgy never looked a serious challenge for Yan, but he's one of the most game fighters I've ever seen and even when outclassed never looks completely out of it.
Everyone's already said what I planned to say about the Yan Figgy fight. One of the better if not the best 50-45 fights you'll see. great skills in all aspects of MMA.
That card was better than most PPV's. Even the womens fight were entertaining and that's saying something.
