I understand we may be a little more undisciplined, not argument there, but the amount we receive is a farce. The number of times something is paid to one team and then within a minute the same thing happens to us and its not paid is farcical.

Media also annoy me when we actually get a free it is replayed and scrutinised within an inch of its life. When oppos get one you don't see or hear anything.

the final para nails. it the media scrutiny is over done,

We do seem to get the rough end of the pineapple. Lots of conspiracy etc theorising the do.

But to me the big thing is that the rules are now so vague and difficult. Make is simpler and then decisions are easier. To solve a problem they invent new things, rather than going back to basics and starting from there.

Makes a difficult job harder. And some umpires do seem to have agendas. they should be told f off for that. But I don't see the AFL as being competent, or disinterested.

If Benny gets the top job it'll be interesting to see how things change. If se suddenly start to get frees and rules top being changed on whim then we know things were rotten like they look.

Rubbish the rules were changed to stop a side , that’s match fixing , the rules are enforced to stop a side. That’s match fixing

who changed the rules…the governing body. That’s match fixing

who controls the outcome of games? Umpires. That’s match fixing
You bet your arse they changed the rules to stop the Tigers game plan …

the deliberate out of bounds against Nank in the first quarter was one of the worst umpiring decisions I have seen. He literally handballed it to Vlaustin who fumbled it under pressure over the line. It was right in front of me. I was sitting mostly amongst hawks supporters and they were of the same opinion that it was a horrible decision. Just another case of Razor making it all about himself.
Totally agree … watching it on TV … I couldn’t believe he paid it … it’s total madness out there now

The first 2 are irrelevant. Its not match fixing if both sides are subject to the same rules.

If the umpires are deliberately umpiring us in a different manner to the opposition that's only match fixing if its agreed they do that beforehand for someone else's benefit (conscious decision). I highly doubt that is happening at AFL level. What's happened is the umpire coaches have told the umpires that we push the envelope and as a result bias results in game, cause the umps are trying to please their coaches. Its not match fixing though.

Much more likely matches are being fixed at VFL level where the umps are not as professional, not earning the same coin and less scrutiny. What happened yesterday in the VFL game needs to be investigated. Particularly the bald flog.

People go to the footy to watch the umpires sprint in like demented lawn bowlers!
Not!!

The umpiring is bad for my health. Seriously, it stresses me out and puts my blood pressure through the roof.

If it doesn't improve I'm gunna have to give it away.

Rub one out after the game to release the pressure. Just don't do it on the train ride home. Unfortunately the general public are not as cosmopolitan as they are in Europe.

Both sides are not umpires the same way , results are contrived ergo match fixing you dont need to a financial gain although I believe that it is happening, but umpire affect the result and in some cases affect the outcome see gelling at home against the lions twice , that by definition is match fixing, and I’m sure it could never happen in Australia because we are whiter than white, we would never stoop to PEDs it’s the coffee was tainted the nitro bullet was used by my brother before me. Blah blah blah name a sport which decides for a marketing exercise to penalise one club with rules. I will wait

No, we are all wrong! Listening to the Hawks at Box Hill yesterday we got an armchair ride!!

The vagueness of the rules still does not account for the fact that out opponents are given 30% more frees than we get on a consistent weekly basis. Maybe it is only vague when the rules are applied to us which is another way of saying there is a defineate subconscious bias by the umps against us...

Interesting to see gil and the cronies real out the Don't second guess pro fluoro proppgandha video on the afl website...thinking they will not be keen to do a Richmond one which could potentially focus on the corruption at hand...lols....

Its bad for the rest of my families hearing, I try to stay calm but I've even started yelling when they get it wrong for the opposition.

The game has never been umpired worse than it currently is and you know the AFL will just make up another untested stupid rule to cover for other untested stupid rules, how is asking a question about a ridiculous free kick, dissent?
Round 1 lose by 25 lose the free kick count by 8
Round 2 win by 36 win free kicks by 8
Round 3 lose by 33 lose the free kick count by 8
Round 4 win by 38 lose the free kick count by 10
Round 5 lose by 19 lose the free kick count by 20
Round 6 lose by 22 lose the free kick count by 9
Round 7 win by 109 win free kicks by 3
Round 8 win by 27 lose the free kick count by 7
Round 9 win by 23 lose the free kick count by 10

That's a fair part of an extra player the oppos get nearly every game, not sure how many goals against this year were from 50 meter penalties as well?

Yes our style is a bit crash and bash but its not even the frees the oppos get that I care about, as most are there, its the ones they don't pay to us and it's week after week, how did we only win the frees by 3 against the Eagles who were chasing our tails all day?

Not too late to join the movement lads.

I've not gone to a game all year after not missing for a decade.

If you want our game back, then vote with your feet.

For those who say "they don't care about crowds, it's about TV numbers" - this would suggest otherwise - Half empty stadiums is terrible for broadcasters.

Feck 'em...😉

That Richmond is umpired differently to other teams is not in question. The question is why?
My gut feeling is that it doesn't come from the top, it's something the umpires are doing independently, consciously or otherwise.
The only clear difference that Richmond has with every other club is the number of indigenous players on our list and our engagement with the Aboriginal community through programs such as the Korin Gamadji institute.

Happy to paint the umpiring fraternity collectively incompetent but collectively racist??
Awful call.
