I was sent this, the January schedule is intense:

Jan 1st Brentford (a) PL
Jan 4th Brighton (a) PL
Jan 6/7th Newcastle (h) Semi Final 1
Jan 12th Man U (h) FA Cup
Jan 15th Spurs (h) PL
Jan 18th Villa (h) PL
Jan 22nd Zagreb (h) CL match 7
Jan 25th Wolves (a) PL
Jan 29th Girona (a) CL match 8
Feb 2nd City (h) PL
Feb 5th Newcastle (a) Semi Final 2
This is heavy and not nice to read.

This is heavy and not nice to read.

I’ve just got that nagging feeling that the squad is still two perhaps three players short of genuinely being able to challenge on all 4 fronts.

I’m looking at that schedule and something will need to give there. Arsenal need to make sure to finalise a top 8 finish in the champions league to avoid an extra 2 games being inserted.

Lovely stuff.

A nice little throwback to the start of the years run, scoring 5-6 goals, emptying stadiums, the away fans singing the “who put the ball in the back of the net?” chant.

Major downside being the Saka hamstring injury. At best depending on the grading, you’d be looking at 3 weeks.

Pleasant watch this morning...

**** injuries. Saka 😔

Yep that January schedule all of a sudden looks more challenging than it already was.

Interesting that Nwaneri was playing as the 9 in his appearance this morning. There’s going to be plenty of minutes available to the likes of him across the forward line in the coming weeks.

No easy games in that January list. Zagreb can score often. Girona move the ball with purpose

Mateta could be worth a look for us.

It seems Sterling as well injured during training on Friday. Not sure what or the severity. He may not be playing much however he’s a senior player in the squad so he’d likely be getting minutes throughout January.

8 weeks was the suggestion, seems to be a bad hamstring tear.

And in classical Arsenal style of cluster injuries, Sterling too has done his knee and needs more scans to see the severity, he’s out for a few weeks at minimum Arteta said.
